It's 11.30 UK time (thanks ESPN!) so 1230 Utrecht time. I suspect you'll be getting up quite early

Very physical game. Can go both ways..

1st half ends 0 - 0. Not much to write about. We had a spell where it looked like we were going to tear them apart, but we didn't get any goals out of it -- then things settled down into trench warfare -- with the occasional touch of danger both ways. Let's hope we can raise it a gear in the second half.

Have to say I'm enjoying this - could do with being a goal up (best to shoot not try to pass the ball into the goal Ismail) but it's a good even game, slightly spoiled by the commentator who accused Enoh of acting when he clearly got studded in the thigh and Vertogen when he clearly got a fist in the face. Not saying either of these were bad/deliberate fouls or anything as they weren't but to say our players were acting is just bloody silly.

Good save from Steks as well to keep it at 0-0.

Unfortunate deflection but it really shouldn't have come to that. Poor defending.

That was a goal straight out of last year's playbook. Up to now, I thought we has stopped giving up those kind of goals -- totally disappointing.

We struggle bigtime against teams that play todays football, cagey defending and much pressure, and of course not doing anything when pantelic misses these chances!!!

Yeah, we look the better football team but we struggle to break them down.

Well, they intimidated us physically to the point that they got every loose ball -- until we get a team that can stand up to that and give worse than we get we will always fall victim to teams with those tactics. Technically superior football is all well and good but when you have to go out in the alley you better have the team to do it, as well.

We go deeper into shit as the time goes by! And we have to find an adequate LB for the next game

Well that's about it; Anita sent off for the second yellow. this reminds me of the Herenveen match last year. I think it was raining that day as well and we were toast! I guess we have to have one bad match but didn't expect it today.

Just look the number of players behind the ball each time we attack!!! Its worse than a concrete wall. I hope one of the 2 teams ahead of us lose points!

by far the worse appearence of the season

Utrecht were happy to park eight players in their own third and tackle like a bunch of Sunday league hackers for most of the game. Ajax with no answer to that and attacked with no belief.

Thoroughly beaten today. Thanks to Steks it wasn't 4 or 5 nil. Need to regroup and have two starters, Enoh and Anita suspended for next week's match. Not pleasant.

Just 16 games played and we can already forget about the title. Nothing new

Poor performance especially the second half. Steks saved us plus Van Wolfswinkel luckily missed 2/3 a better forward would have scored otherwise it would have been 5-0

At half time I had a feeling our defence would not hold and for the first time since this young defence has been together they looked poor and the inexperince showed .

Next week's game marks the half way point in games and I do not see us winning the title but we have played all the hard away games.

Enoh and Anita out next week so Donald should start and Oleguer also with Vertonghen playing left back .

A deserved loss. Ajax played well in the 1st half, but failed to convert. Utrecht were flaming in the 2nd and they did the job.

Excellent. That was the 2009-2010 season, ladies and gents. It was 15 matches long. The remaining 19 are pre-season games for the 2010-2011 campaign.

That was rubbish.they got steam rolled second half,Plantelic,is too slow and falls over too easy!Enoh,should have gone with Anita in the same move ,as well as the referee ,bottling sending him off later on.
Vertonghen and Alderweireld,dont seem to talk a real weakness for centre backs.
The team overall is too young,they need more experience and a real nasty b*****d in the middle,the team struggled against a high tempo and high exgressive team today.
As Kowalczyk wrote ,roll on next season and look at winning the eufa cup.
