AZ - Zagreb - Feyenoord - Zagreb - Twente... in fifteen days' time... It would be so great if we made it through that string of games with a 100% score...

Anyway, after the Twente game a weekend of internationals lies ahead, which means: a fourteen-day break for Ajax. Next league game: Heerenveen at home on Sunday 22 November, 14:30 CET. Heerenveen are having their worst start of the season since 1991, I read in today's Volkskrant. Their manager (Sollied) left and the new one already seems bitter...

They can't have Foppe de Haan back, that's for sure, 'cos he works for us now: as manager of Ajax Cape Town.

If Ajax win on Sunday, it would be quite typical of them to then lose some points in this game (by the way, Heerenveen is the last team that won in Amsterdam). But let's beat Twente first and enjoy a small break (for players not called up for international duties).

That might have been the case last year, but this year's team seems much better at avoiding letdowns like that, I think. Plus, it's a full two week break for most of the players, so lots of time to clear the head. I predict that Ajax win 12-0.

last year it was the start of our downfall!! 0-1 if I remember... I was in the army and trying to persuade a friend of mine that we would definitely win. Then I get a message that it was 0-1 and I was shocked. Of course after Nov-Dec 08 we were free falling

I will wish the team good luck in advance. This will be the first match I've missed all season. I have a good reason as I'm selling my artistic wares (photographs and photo note cards) at a craft fair on Sunday. I'll be with the team in spirit and try to catch up with the match on ESPN 360 later in the day (assuming they carry it).

I think the two week " break" will have done many of the players good...it won't be like last year, (he says with his fingers crossed behind his back....)...Aveslacker is nearer the mark, although more that 3 goals is more likely!!
