Re: 24 Sep 2009: AGOVV Apeldoorn - Ajax
My last game of football at Berg & Bos was AGOVV Apeldoorn vs Helmond Sport, a league game in the First Division, six years ago. I went there with two guys from a record label I know: one is an AGOVV fan, the other is a Helmond Sport fan. I went with them. Good seats. Great supporters' pub on the premises. Football culture to the max. I loved it.
It was a beautiful evening in the fall: cold, but no rain or wind. And it was a very entertaining match, too. Final score was 2-2. Helmond Sport were easily the better football team, but AGOVV had a very good striker named Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who scored both of their goals... The home supporters told us he was a bloody phenomenon. We thought: yeah, right, he's clearly better than the rest of the players on this pitch, but is he Eredivisie material...? We weren't too sure.
He scored 26 goals in 35 appearances for AGOVV Apeldoorn, but not too many Eredivisie clubs were seriously interested. Heerenveen bought him for 100,000 euros. A year and a half later Ajax paid 9 million for him. Another three seasons later Real Madrid thought he was worth 27 million euros - and today one of the stands at Berg & Bos is called the Klaas-Jan Huntelaar Stand.

Re: 24 Sep 2009: AGOVV Apeldoorn - Ajax
Demy de Zeeuw is an ex-AGOVV man, by the way. He's from Apeldoorn.
Edit: Here's the full squad for AGOVV...
Maarten Stekelenburg
Jeroen Verhoeven
Gregory van der Wiel
Bruno Silva
Toby Alderweireld
Rob Wielaert
Jan Vertonghen
Thimothée Atouba
Demy de Zeeuw
Vurnon Anita
Mitchell Donald
Siem de Jong
Urby Emanuelson
Miralem Sulejmani
Luis Suarez
Dario Cvitanich
Dennis Rommedahl
Kennedy
So, Verhoeven back from injury (Vermeer played for Young Ajax on Tuesday). Wielaert and Atouba back in the squad. Aissati has been left out, because he picked up a serious injury on Volendam's artificial pitch last season. AGOVV play on artificial turf, too, and both Jol and Aissati feel bad about it, so he won't play. Enoh has been declared fit, but will be rested for one more match before returning to the squad.

It just started to work for me.
NVS 2 on Sopcast worked for the match presentation and then went offline.

0-0 at the half. I hope this is not a repeat of last year where we struggle and get bounced out of the Cup play.

Very poor first half. Hardly anything noteworthy (but no unexpected problems, either).

While checking the score in xscores i noticed that just under our match there is the Italian Genoa - Juventus (much hated) and seeing Ajax and Juventus one under the other reminded me of the past...

did not look like a penalty to me. Thought Stek was going for the ball.

Pretty certain there's a thread on here somewhere but I couldn't find it.

More than made up for it with the point blank save at the end of time. Amazing how a penalty call can get the oponent energized and playing well.Van basten schreef:He was, but he didn't reached the ball, just the player.
