Second U.K. friendly on the English south coast!

I know it's probably a silly question, but any idea how we can get tickets for this if we live in UK?

Probably through the Southampton web-site? That's what I did last year with the Sunderland game (and the Villa game for that matter). As soon as they spotted my Ajax shirt they directed me to the Ajax stand. This will only work for friendlies I think. For the Villa game I didn't wear my Ajax shirt as they will deny you access to the stadium.

Hopefully there will be no problem getting tickets from Southampton !!!

I phoned Bristol the other day about tickets for that game (looks like I may now be able to make it afterall! :) )

They said they would not be selling and I need to get direct from Ajax.

That said, Im sure if you bought one on the day and spoke nicely to a steward and explained the situation, seeing that the away end will only be half full, im sure there would be no problem letting you in.

Southampton is way bigger ground than Bristol City. Will wait until nearer the time to buy aticket as they may of course go out of business.Nothing on the Southampton site at present.

Still seems uncertain whether Southampton will stay in business. If no firm buyer this week they go under.

Wow, I didn't know it was that dire. Wasn't but a few years ago they were in the EPL. I just saw a replay of an old match against ManU last week on Fox Soccer Channel. If it happens it will be the first significant club to go under in recent times.

Local Tv reports they are looking like going under by the weekend. The main consortium have pulled out leaving an unknown Swiss group left. If nothing serious by the weekend I think we can forget about this game.

Southampton will likely be taken over this week and are saved so our game should go ahead. Once this is announced I will phone Southampton re tickets.

If they do not sell away end tickets to me I will just go in with their fans and hope to meet some Ajax lads afterwards.

Possibly, not sure yet. Managed to get a trip to Amsterdam for the end of July (just before the footy starts but I don't mind) so with the dire exchange rate at the moment I'm saving the pennies to convert to Euro cents but I'm hoping to go - Away end tickets will make that much more likely though....

Well, I've already booked the train, and I know of a Luton Ajax fan who's going..roll on 18th

Hi Ian I have just got through to Southampton and they will sell tickets to Ajax fans on the day . £10
from ticket office 3 North stand. They do not expect more than acouple of hundred of us.
They would have sold tickets through Ajax only(like the Bristol City match) but as tickets have only gone on sale today for the game we can get tickets on the day.

OK, think that means I'm going to, away end tickets and at only £10, I'll have some of that. Actually really looking forward to it, my third Ajax away game but first time in with the Ajax fans (unless you count QPR of course).

Will be good to meet up, let me know what you're planning.

Suggested meet before the game, for a beer and some food... http://www.platformtavern.com . Seems a nice looking pub, and it's only 10 minutes or so walk from the ground...unless any more suggestions...

That sound great Ian, not been to Southampton before so no suggestions from me. Don't know what time you'll be there but just booked my train and I'll be in town about 1.20pm - should be enough time for a beer or three.
