No Eredivisie football this upcoming weekend, due to internationals (including Holland v Scotland at the Amsterdam ArenA on Saturday!).

Next league match for Ajax is Roda JC away, on Sunday 05 April, kick-off time 12:30. This used to be a very tough fixture in a not so distant past, but now it's simply a must-win.

A few familiar faces over there (Delorge, technical director Martin van Geel) and - this sounds a bit weird - it might be the very last Roda JC vs Ajax fixture ever, if the merger with Fortuna Sittard will happen.

I think after seeing Vermeer's keeping against Breda, it wouldn't be bad idea to try Stekelenburg. Especially after he'll (assumingly) get warmed up with the international fixtures

This will be a weird one... Not only will it be the very last Roda JC vs Ajax ever, but it's also Roda's first home game after the merger with Fortuna Sittard became official (that happened today: they will melt together this summer to become Sporting Limburg). I think it will be a very emotional game. What to expect? I don't exactly know. One thing's for sure: Fortuna fans hate this merger the most. Sporting Limburg will play their home games in Kerkrade and Roda are the more 'powerful partner' in this 'wedding'.

But the Roda fans hate it, too. Their chairman actually resigned after he received death threats...

Will be very interesting to see what happens at the Parkstad Limburg this Sunday...

Been watching on Sopcast 74174

0-1 up at halftime from an early Suarez goal, nice move around the defender and a strike from the edge of the box. We've looked pretty good, together at the back and creating chances. No one really looks to be playing that badly, although Sulejmani seems missing from the game at times.

And their fans were just starting to lose it before the half, they seem about fed up with things.

We've looked good at times this half. Very good, in fact. Ref is terrible.

There's a big banner saying: "GET RELEGATED FOR US".

In other words: the fans want Roda to 'sabotage' Sporting Limburg. If Roda stay up, Sporting Limburg can start in the Eredivisie. If Roda go down, the new club will have to start in the First Division.

The players will definitely f*ck thing up deliberately, as their contracts will continue: they'll play for Sporting next season.

Can't say that was the most exciting game I've watched this season _ Nice to see Aissati get his first goal though.

The Roda fans are seriously upset about the merger and I don't blame them.

Is it likely/possible that "Roda" and "Fortuna" will be reformed for next season at a lower level by the fans?

That certainly happens here in the UK, AFC Wimbledon, FC United of Manchester being formed by the fans in opposition to developments with those two teams and Scarborough Athletic, AFC Telford United, Gretna FC 2008 and more being reformations of teams that have gone out of business, all those three fan controlled.

Won't it totally mess on the suits who arranged this if Roda get relegated

It was hard-fought in the end, but this was our first win in Kerkrade since 2005, so I'm happy with that.

Decent game. We could have scored more except Suarez had one of those games where he forgot to put his head up (except for on the Aissatti goal). I think we look better with Suarez on the right, Cvitanich in the middle and Mickey on the left. MotM was Enoh again. Anita was also good.

And I have no idea how Vormer didn't get as much as a yellow.

A hard fought win in the end after another soft goal let in by us but it did not matter this time.Good to see Aissati score

Great result in what has often been a banana skin fixture for Ajax !! Well done boys. Looks like Aissati is coming on by leaps and bounds.

Van Basten said that Van der Wiel made the mistake for their goal, but I have to say vermeer should have had that corner covered. The striker came in from the left and beat Vermeer at the near post. That's never okay.
