What a fun, fun match. I'm sure people will be complaining that this team was barely worth the Eerste Divisie, but Ajax have no control over that. If Ajax were only to have won 1-0, it would have been the end of the world.

Instead, we were treated to a wonderful match, with almost everyone playing well, the team firing on all cylinders, and a truly special performance by Suarez.

Obviously Suarez is motm, but I thought Rommedahl and Enoh were great, as was de Zeeuw. The only disappointments were Mickey and Atouba (although he got better as the game wore on).

I will be so depressed when he leaves :( He runs the team, I mean to be honest we've been irresistable going forward this season but you know Suarez will always convert the work into goals...defense is the weakness and will lose us the title this year...but anyway. Luis must stay, he's way too good for us but im praying that he loves the club enough to stay. our titles aspirations are definitely over if he goes

Totally agree with this. The second half was pure dominance by all 11 Ajax players.

Also, by my count, nine or ten of the fourteen players that saw the pitch tonight came up through some part of the Ajax youth system.

And it's not true, either. Slovan Bratislava ain't no bad football team. Last season we played MSK Zilina and we had a rough one. They also gave Hamburg SV (Martin Jol's team) a very hard time. Slovan finished the season eight points ahead of MSK Zilina. They looked good in the first half hour and could have taken the lead. Their players were skillful. They knew what they were doing.

But in the latter fifteen minutes of the first half Ajax took control of the game - and in the second half we really destroyed them. Ajax played like a team, they worked hard, they were totally dominant and all over their opponents. Very well done. Luis Suárez was phenomenal today, but I thought Alderweireld, Enoh, Van der Wiel and Rommedahl performed well, too.

Made me very happy, this.

Didn'y get to see all the second half but a great result and Suarez was on fire. I will be shocked if we sell him in the next week and we should be able to keep him until at least January if not end of season.

Good to see Donald scoring in the last minute after missing all of last season .

A fitting reward for a player who has worked hard to get back and to fight for his place in the side. I thought I knew english pretty well , but there aren't enough superlatives to describe how well Luis Suarez played . Talk about a captain leading by example !!

Yo blind, maybe you can try some spanish words like magnifico, impresionante,increible, sorprendente I'll bet he understands that better

I think that by now Donald has won his place besides Demy and Enoh, good for him

Now if only we could get Mickey to follow along and start scoring and of course patch up that defense.....
