02 Oct 2005: Sparta Rotterdam - Ajax

I think that a certain Mr Cohen has to take some of the blame for the injury situation at Ajax. His stupidity , in what we will refer to as the Den Haag affair, has resulted in Ajax playing 6 games in 17 days. We had 5 games in 14 days prior to playing Arsenal. No wonder Ajax has such a lengthy injury list.
Do you think it was ironic ? :DPer schreef:Who was it again that founded that "Yannis must stay club"?Kowalczyk schreef:Yeah, that's quite reassuring...Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:plus we got Super Yannis on the bench :cheer:

Touré can explain one injury, Cohen can explain what happen right now, but still...
"Geef Ajax z'n goede reputatie terug!"

Given that Ajax have had a pretty rotten record regarding player injuries for a number of seasons i have to admit you make a good point. However , this is a blame culture we live in and i say we blame that bastard Cohen.

According to AT5 Text it is almost certain that Manucharyan will start on Sunday.
Injury update according to Ajax Netwerk: Sneijder, Rosales and Charisteas will definitely not play. Galásek and Trabelsi might be available (decision will be taken today). Grygera will probably be alright.
Extra injury case: Julien Escudé had the flu on Friday. Decision to be taken today.
As for Sparta: according to the latest reports former Ajax man Anthony Obodai will be fit and ready to play. On the other hand: it seems like Sparta will have to do without their topscorer, Ricky van den Bergh.

No worries: none of these injuries are very serious... We will see Sneijder, Trabelsi, Rosales, Galásek, Escudé and Charisteas back in the squad soon enough.AsgAarD_xxx schreef:I hope there are only not very dangerous injuries and illnesses and our players will be able to play in next game.
The only very serious injury cases were Stekelenburg (back in group training!), Maxwell (return scheduled for November) and Mitea (will probably miss almost the entire season...).
Against Arsenal and Sparta we had/will have to improvise with the line-up, but the current situation won't last long (thank God).

Thank you for that optimistic news :xyxthumbs:. But I'm wondering how can it's possible- we have good training grounds, good physios etc. and we have always full of injured and ill players in squad. Is it bad luck? Or maybe our players are very sickly or vulnerable? Or maybe God prefers Feyenoord?
Anyway, good to see that there are not very dangerous injuries. Hope to see our players soon.

Worst case injury scenario for Ajax:
Stekelenburg (sholder); Trabelsi (knee), Escudé (flu), Grygera (groin), Maxwell (knee); Galasek (ankle), Sneijder (hamstring), Maduro (ankle); Rosales (groin), Charisteas (concussion), Mitea (knee).
If you put it this way, this could well have been the favorite squad of many Ajax fans at the beginning of this season.

With that line up we would be top of Eredivisie and our Champions League group. X'C X'C
