He lost control of this match by letting a bunch of bad tackles go early in the match (both sides).

Game ruined by a bad ref.

Doubt there will be 22 on the pitch by the end.

Pretty solid defensive first half and the pressing was excellent with almost total disruption of any PSV movement of the ball. Dolberg might have done better with the header that went high. Blom better keep a tight whistle on this match as it looks to boil over. Let's hope for an early goal in the 2nd half.

From the sideline these situations can be pretty difficult too judge when the ball comes with a bounce at that speed on such a terrible pitch.

I've seen Huntelaar missing many bigger chances.

Saw the last 20 minutes and great short passing on the 3rd goal.

I say keep Keizer and get him some decent help. None of us know what Spijkerman really does. Lets get someone who can help manage the defensive line.

Watching Jong Ajax last season ,although I was entranced by the little magical Appie I really did think Frenkie looked as hugh a talent

What a mystery this Ajax club are. After a horrible performance a week ago, the club comes back strong to thoroughly dominate top of table PSV. For the second straight week, Ajax were confronted by poor officiating though Blom did have a much better 2nd half with the whistle. Onana had no shots to deal with in the first half as Ajax were controlling the ball, getting turnovers and even when the Einhoven team got deep, the defense stood strong. Three nice goals in the second half offer some hope that perhaps the season is not lost. Maybe this match even saved Keizer from being sacked. The 3-4-3 worked well today and it's likely to be the preferred formation the rest of the way given the thinness of the back line; let's hope Veltman is OK after coming off late.

Player Ratings:

Onana (7) - after a first half with nothing to do, the Ajax keeper was alert and made a couple of good saves; even the van Ginkel free kick that clanged off the crossbar was covered
Wöber (6.5) - only the poor defending that led to a Yellow card late in the 2nd half marred a decent performance
de Ligt (7.5) - strong all match long and very good with the ball
Veltman (7) - handled Lozano pretty well and was excellent in dispossessing his man on several occasions
F de Jong (7) - kept his cool all match long with some very good ball handling and distribution
Schöne (7.5) - what a nice shot for the 2nd score
van de Beek (7) - worked hard both ways and got a deserved nice goal on the pass from Neres
Ziyech (5) - disappointing, so many chances to complete an incisive pass and so many failures to do so
Kluivert (7) - very good two way play
Dolberg (5.5) - just a shade above average
Neres (8) - nice goal (maybe helped by a deflection?) and the pass to van de Beek iced the match
Hunelaar (6) - drew a foul almost every time he got the ball
Zeefuik (4) - still unconvincing that he can defend
S de Jong (NR) - hardly involved coming on for Neres

Home to Excelsior in a mid-week match as we approach the winter break.

EDIT: I do my ratings before reading any of the posts from others or listen to the MOM announcement. Perhaps I was too harsh in not rating Frenkie higher but it is what it is. I agree with others that he had a very nice match!!!

It's times like this, I have to eat humble pie with egg on my face after slating Marcel Keizer before the match, he proved me wrong so far, however, I think he needs to stop bringing on Siem de Jong from the bench, let Eiting get a chance in midfield. to gain some experience

Yup.
It still is pretty shitty that we didn't play proper friendlies in the preparation months.

That means we didn't see which attackers were on fire when scoring against small opponents, during the summer month there was no time to build in automatism in the game play when the team is building up condition.


Today looked like Lyon, Schalke and Copenhagen with pressing and the team was even quicker in getting the ball back.

Agree most of the ratings but Frenkie would get an 8 from me and shade MOM.Agree about the other de Jong at times like this Eiting should be given game time, just like he should have been last week when we were 3-2 up.
