Good goal with Ziyech setting up Dolberg for a simple tap in. In the end a fine goal by Younes set us up and Dolberg's finish took us clear

Not overly impressive, but a deserved win. Nice to see our defense holding up. Hope this clean sheet will give some confidence for our back line for thursday. The test will be tougher for our defense then for sure. We just can't afford to give Copenhagen those away goals.

A scoreline that really flattered Ajax who after an abysmal first half came alive to score three goals to win 3-0 against a FC Twente club who had trouble even getting the ball across the halfway line. The third goal by Dolberg looked like an easy offsides call but it wasn't given. The stat sheet said there were four shots on Onana's goal but I only counted on that was on frame and required more than an average save. Unfortunately, Feyenoord continues to win so the margin isn't narrowed this week. More Thursday night football with the return tie against Copenhagen down a goal but with an away goal.
Player Ratings:
Onana (6.5) - hardly troubled today
Sinkgraven (6.5) - very decent match before having to come off with an apparent injury
Viergever (6.5) - played well and took some nice advantage of open space moving into the offensive half
Sanchez (6.5) - steady all game
Veltman (5) - very poor passing today and beaten badly once
Schöne (6) - decent match
Klaassen (6) - very nice pass over to Younes for the first goal and better on the ball today
Ziyech (5.5) - should have put his shots on frame
Younes (6) - very charitable marks today because of the goal and nice pass sending Dolberg in otherwise his play was very poor
Dolberg (6.5) - two goals and solid on the ball throughout the match
Traore (5.5) - bottled up by the defense and having Klaassen and Veltman as the outlets is not a recipe for success
Kluivert (5.5) - lots of pace and an OK performance as a sub
de Ligt (5) - one stumble on defense but really had little to do
van de Beek (5.5) - on late for Schöne but probably will get the start against Copenhagen
Next league match is Excelsior followed by the FIFA break and then...................FEYENOORD

A hard fought win , turned around by Younes.The first time this season he has made his mark.Agree was poor except for the involvement in 2 goals Traore cannot finish , isn't a winger and should give way to Neres . Midfield still too slow in build up and only came alive in the last few minutes when we were 2 up.
The Feyenoord game is next one at the Arena and anything other than a win will see the title going to Rotterdam

As always, not much to add after Orange14's game summary. A couple of notes:
Orange14 is right, very little chances created on behalf of Twente. 5 shots only one on target.
We created 27, with 9 on target. Yes, Hakim Ziyech had a lot of shots, 7, only two on target. Kasper Dolberg had 4 on target out of six.
Very little presence from Davy Klaassen with 3.2% of the possession of the ball, but did manage an assist. Less than Onana with 4.3%. Sanchez had the most amount of possession with more than 10%.
Viergever and Sanchez had 93 and 92% pass accuracy respectively. Viergever good on the air with 5 aerial duels won. Traoré and Younes also very precise with 90%.
Kasper Dolberg had a good game, with 5 successful dribbles to go along with his two goals (one that may have been offside). Younes had 4 successful dribbles.
Veltman had 7 successful tackles and 5 clearances, and was dribbled past twice. Nick Viergever had the most interceptions with 3. Schöne a decent defensive game with 2 tackles and 2 interceptions in a game we kept a 66% possession rate.
Amin Younes lost possession 3 times.
Onana had one save.
Man of the match would be a tie between Dolberg and Younes.

Veltman is not a wing back either partner him with Sanchez or don't play him at all.

Ziyech is an excellent passer. Unfortunately he is terrible at everything else including shooting and decision making (he also has his initials shaved into the side of his head).
There was a stat halfway through the first half that he's taken *90* shots from outside the box this season. Second in the list was 46. Probably nothing that makes an opposing defense happier than Ziyech winding up to shoot.
I think he'd be dropped if Klaassen was available for the next match against Kobenhavn.
