Riedewald has to stay in ,Sinkgraven doesn't defend .Viergever a better LB than Sinkgraven. de Ligt and not Westermann,the kid is better.Even if we are at Old Trafford he wouldn't be fazed.

Midfield struggled in the 2nd half and poor Dolberg needs a break.

Another nail biting 1-0 win. When will this team win a game in a convincing manner. Stupid cards now have the right side of the defense suspended for the next match. there were a number of chances created in the second half that just were not finished off. Good teams take care of business but Ajax are not a good team right now.

Player Ratings:

Onana (7.5) - had to be on top of his game and came up with several nice saves though he had to do a lot of kicking out as Ajax still have trouble moving the ball out of the defensive half
Viergever (7.5) - right place to finish off the chance for the game winner and had some good interventions of defense
Riedewald (7) - decent positioning and defended well
Sanchez (7) - half point off for the dumb dissent that gets him suspended for the next match
Veltman (6.5) - half point off for reckless tackle that gets him suspended for the next match
Schöne (6) - hardly a factor in this match
Ziyech (5) - really poor defending giving the Legia MF a free shot on goal and how can you miss when your team has a 5 on 1?
el Capitan (6.5) - OK match with some nice touches for a change
Younes (7) - best of all the forwards
Dolberg (4.5) - yes he didn't get any support but he also tried to make plays when there was not one to be made
Traore (5) - average no better
Nouri (5.5) - on late for Dolberg and had a very nice intervention deep in the defensive half to break up a dangerous play

The draw for the next round takes place tomorrow and there is no seeding or country restrictions so Ajax could very well draw ManU.

It looked like he was off side when the ball was passed over to Klaassen and I don't think he was ever on sides. I'm not an expert in all the nuances of off side play, just making the observation.

It's only offside if the ball is played to him or he interferes in some other material way. I'd say the refereeing was inconsistent and weird in that match, for example the foul throw called on Younes in the first half then let go all through the second. Anyway, we're through.

I seen it called when an offsides player put the ball in off a deflection or rebound from hitting the goal post even though he was not the recipient of a pass. No matter, as you say WE ARE THROUGH to the next round!!

We get Anthony Taylor as match official. He's pretty decent as I've seen him do a bunch of EPL matches.

An absolute shit referee. Gave the yellow cards on the wrong moments, like more British referees when they have an international game they forget that out of the 23th people on the pitch they should be the most invisible person instead of trying to be the star of the show.

And when they come from EPL to an UEFA game English referees directly change the sport and the rules to the most small-minded girl sport ever seen on tv.


A good thing that the linesmen were sharp on off-side. I've seen goals like that one from Viergever being declined many times when Ajax was involved.....

The FC Copenhagen coach gave Boilesen playing time after 89 minutes, yesterday. Still a wonder he is not again injured.

Yes!!! wonderfull draw as it gives me a great opportunity to see Ajax without travelling very far..
Boilesen will be a first team player for copenhagen next year they go easy with him this season because of injuries.
He said Ajax have gone a step backwards in qulity of players in recent years and believes the chances are 50/50 well everybody here in denmark does.
I hope we run them over to prove them wrong
