ZZZZZZZZZZ Bromley v Fisher Athletic yesterday in the Blue Square South was a LOT more entertaining than this rubbish (and a lot better players too on this performance).
Den Haag are the biggest bunch of cloggers I've seen this season by far!
Someone wake me up if something interesting happens - stopped watching again and doing the hoovering!

Forza Haarlem. HFC Gone but not forgotten!
The worst thing in my mind is the Den Haag manager said that they were going to have to clog up the midfield to prevent Ajax from attacking. Knowing this, there was absolutely no adjusting by Van Basten. He needs to seriously question some of the players. This was Lindgren's worst match by far and the only players that deserved to be on the pitch today were Sulejmani, Wielaert, and Oleguer. Vermaelen was average and van der Wiel disappeared. How could we be pressed up field by a team that is slow and clumsy?

Since Christams break our attack has been Suarez and without him we are completely clueless. Leo and Kennedy both did their bit with a goal each in UEFA but nothing else. Why was Bodul not given a run out today and I am sure Martina could still be given some sub appearances.Sarpong ought to have come on today as Sno was crap and Schilder is a defensive player.
We do not have an attack without Suarez and even with him it is lightweight and we wont finish 2nd. We do not deserve to the way we have played since the winter break.
The whole season to date makes me question whether we have the right man in charge!! ( I wont start that up again as I still want the man at Az back )

It's been awhile, but we got the team that doesn't care to show up to play today. Don't think I've seen that team in about a month. Yeah crap overall, and we're lucky to come out of it with a draw. I agree, attitude was the biggest problem, and in almost all the games we haven't won, that's been the case.
I didn't think our biggest problem would have been in the attack, but the few chances we created were pretty crap. I'm sure not having Suarez was a part of that, but I don't remember us being that bad all year.
I think I've given up on Sno (at least in midfield, I'd still like to see him as a battering ram type striker at some point, I think that's about all he can hope for. He's been a step late defending all season).
Aisatti looked alright for not having played all season, although the ref didn't really help anytime he seemed to have the ball and his shins kicked. Unfortunately the rest of the team looked like they hadn't played all season either.
Not much to take away from it, I guess, just looking forward to Marseille.

I made the point our attack has been woeful since Winter break and stats show this.
In 9 league games since Winter we have scored just 14 goals(well 13 as 1 was an og)
Given the 1st of those games we scored 4 v NEC we have in fact scored 10 in 8 games. the 10 breakdown as follows:
Forwards; Suarez 3, Sulejmani 1
Midfield Urby 1.
Defenders; Vermaelen 2, Vertonghen Vd Wiel, and Wielaert all 1 each.
As I said with Suarez we are light weight and without him we do not have an attack.
Still it can only get better as next week its de Graafschap and Cvitanich has scored 3 out of his total 6 v them !!

every problem since january is directly laid at the feet of whichever assbag ArenA suit that told marco he couldn't have another #9 striker to replace KJH
we were left with one striker, and when he was hurt or suspended, we had zero strikers
this is not brain surgery: upper management pissed away this title, and perhaps more uefa cup glory, by hording the huntelaar windfall short term
they damn well know they;re gonna have to buy a #9 this summer, and there is no possible explanation for allowing our best player/captain to walk in mid-season with no replacement
not only that, there was no hurry, we had 5 damn weeks to do a proper buy search... i honestly cannot even quantify WTF they were thinking

I don't think this is as big a problem as our overall lack of quality in the midfield. Every team we play here on out will play just like Den Haag, clog up the midfield and figure that at best we will only score once. Aisatti has just returned from injury and I hope he can turn this around. All we have is a collection of holding midfielders who have very little speed. If we can't create width on the field we will see lots of close 1-0 victories (and I'm being very optimistic on this count). This is where we need new players. If KJH had stayed we would still be having difficulty.bluedaddy19 schreef:every problem since january is directly laid at the feet of whichever assbag ArenA suit that told marco he couldn't have another #9 striker to replace KJH
Most games we play 2 holding midfielders which I do not think is doing us any favours when the majority of attacking players struggle to score.
We do need to buy in the summer and a decent attacking midfielder is needed and as for the attack well Suarez will likely be off and Kennedy Martina and Leo will all go leaving us with the injury prone Cvitanich and Sulejmani . We will need a goalscoring striker plus 3 wide men - yes 3 as we need 4 wide men for our squad and I am treating Sulejmani as 1 of them.
My hope is we buy some players who are not injury prone as Sulejmani Aissati and Cvitanich are all injury prone.

From The Guardian's weekly eredivisie collumn:
""Not everybody is sharp," van Basten droned on, looking increasingly demotivated. "You could get angry and start screaming. We have to try to get out of this [bad stretch] but we're not doing anything about it right now." What's the manager's job again?"

Make mystifying team selections? Make Bruno Silva cry? Holding onto unneeded players? Throw away the league? I'm not sure, this season.
I've felt pretty confident in van Basten, although what's really bothered me is that in so many games this year, there's been a team out there that has just looked out of sync and not motivated. I think most of that falls on van Basten. I don't think he's a motivator and actually has a negative effect on some players.
Most of the quotes I remember from him about that are along the lines of, "they should be motivated to play". Well they aren't, that's a problem, and it's his to fix.
