Weighing in very late, and I only saw (most of) the second half and the OT, and on a pretty crappy stream at that, but I agree that Ajax looked extremely dangerous and dominant for most of that time. It really did strike me as one of the better sustained displays I've seen from them this season - up until the OT, when all the air seemed to go right out of their sails - and that's what they (and we) should take away from this match. This is still such a young squad overall, and (depending of course on who goes and who arrives) should be even better next year. And man, I'm hoping someone really puts the boot into that effing little git Ben Arfa - what an egregious bit of playacting....

In many ways Hatem Ben Arfa is the archetypal Ajax player.

Young, brilliant, narcissistic, arrogant, snotty, awkward, difficult to manage, difficult to coach, difficult to please. I would just love to see him at Ajax, can you imagine him winding up the Feyen*@rd fans?

How much fun would that be?
