24 Jan 2007: Ajax - FC Haarlem
Next up: cup game against Haarlem on Wednesday!
Personally, I don't expect the ArenA to sell out for this one... Not entirely, anyway... :D

Just read on the official HFC Haarlem website that they have already sold more than 3,500 tickets to their fans. Which is more than a sold out Haarlem Stadium... :D
Seriously: that's quite good. A very good travelling support for a mid-table First Division side in a 'round of sixteen' cup game. Total attendance won't be large, but Ajax announced that they have sold more tickets than expected, so perhaps we'll get some nice atmosphere after all.
EDIT: just read on Ajax Netwerk that Ajax have sold more than 17,000 tickets. That would be surprisingly good compared to the previous cup game against Den Haag (less than 8,000 spectators in total).

Well, there's a few more I reckon, but the problem for those clubs would be that they wouldn't get more than 1,600 tickets (= the away end). This is a low key and low risk fixture, in which the Amsterdam crowd is not very interested. That's why Haarlem can get as many tickets from Ajax as they want. The same happened when UDI '19 (amateur side) and RBC Roosendaal (First Division at the time) played here for the cup.Dubbel schreef:3500 away fans sure is a lot.
I wonder how many clubs would be able to match that number for a mid-week 1/8 final cup match in the Arena. Fijenoord probably, but other than that?
But it's a bloody good turnout for them, that's for sure.
