Reasonable half but Twente are well organised and took advantage when they got a chance.
This is not the first away game this season where the pitch has looked noticeably slow to me. They may water it at ht but it’s also possible they’re doing it to interfere with Ajax’s passing game.

Re: 10 NOV 2024; FC Twente - Ajax; Match Day 11
Ended badly ,Baas with a howler to give away the goal and Godts limps off
Re: 10 NOV 2024; FC Twente - Ajax; Match Day 11
Away draws are good results. Made some mistakes in the second half so I will take it.
Re: 10 NOV 2024; FC Twente - Ajax; Match Day 11
Will take the draw although their 2nd was again a shot well out the box so thats 3 in a row,PSV 2nd the same. Hope Godts is soon fit as he will be badly missed and it means only Akpom to play on the left.
Glad we now have a 2 week break and hope no one gets injured in these meaningless ints

Re: 10 NOV 2024; FC Twente - Ajax; Match Day 11
A 2-2 draw is a fair result in a poorly officiated game. I think the fixture congestion caught up with Ajax, particularly in the 2nd half. Both teams made a number of mistakes with bad passes and poor shooting. Godts went off just before halftime with what looks to be a hamstring injury. Fortunately, yet another international break is coming up so the team will be relieved of not having to play for the next two weeks. Sutalo and Taylor were perhaps the two best players. Henderson was outstanding but faded in the 2nd half and was really lucky that a disastrous pass was not punished. Credit to former Ajax LB Salah-Eddine for a great assist on the 2nd goal for Twente.
Player Ratings:
Pasveer (7) - a couple of great saves but stood no chance on either goal
Rensch (6.5) - quiet match but made no mistakes
Sutalo (7.5) - really fine with some key defensive plays on free kicks
Baas (5.5) - horrible pass to concede the first goal; he knew it and came back to play a decent match
Hato (7) - decent enough but really should have done better when he was in deep and only needed to loft a ball to either of two wide open players but missed it completely
Hendeerson (6.5) - great first half controlling the MF but tired late and suffered what looked to be a minor muscle injury
Taylor (7.5) - some great passes and defended well
Davy One Goal (6.5)- did not disappoint in terms of getting on the team sheet but was a bit of a liability with some poor touches
Akpom (6) - really should have scored in the first half
Weghorst (6) - worked hard but did not get any shooting opportunities other than one goal area scramble
Godts (6) - off injured just before halftime
Traore (7) - got the goal that evened the score and was fine with the ball at his feet
Fitz-Jim (6) - on for Klaassen but without much impact
Berghuis (5.5) - on for Taylor but had no impact
Brobbey (6) - mugged again every time he got the ball
van den Boomen (NR) - on late
Two a week matches pick up again in two weeks as Ajax host PEC Zwolle

Re: 10 NOV 2024; FC Twente - Ajax; Match Day 11
So Godts with a hamstring could be out for a while and Traore has a knee problem.December is going to be a tough month if those 2 are missing.Akpom and Berghuis on the wings but Banel and Rasmussen are not even great at KKD level. Faberski needs to get some minutes having had a good season for Jong.
Re: 10 NOV 2024; FC Twente - Ajax; Match Day 11
Against either PSV or Feyenoord (can’t remember which) we started in a 4-4-2 with Fitz-Jim playing left central midfield and no left winger. So we may also see something like that if Godts is out.
I like the fact that Farioli adjusts the formation to the players and/or the situation. Not something we get a lot with Ajax managers.

I just saw a report that Van Axel Dongen is out with an ankle injury!!! This kid is one of the most snake bitten players I know. Hardly played at all in the past two seasons and as a result we don't know if he is first team quality or not.SPL schreef: ↑zo nov 10, 2024 8:53 pmSo Godts with a hamstring could be out for a while and Traore has a knee problem.December is going to be a tough month if those 2 are missing.Akpom and Berghuis on the wings but Banel and Rasmussen are not even great at KKD level. V A Dongen has never played a full season but when fit showed his talent.Back in mid 2023 he was given an extended contract to 2027 of 800k pa which of course was crazy. He may finally get fit and make it . We could have done with him fit now as Godts may be out to January.
Re: 10 NOV 2024; FC Twente - Ajax; Match Day 11
We were better in the 1st half until the error by Baas. It happens, but sucks every time it does. Henderson had a similar/even worse howler which was saved by quick thinking by Pasveer.
Glad that we at least left with 1 point.
More troubling is Godts' injury.
