27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
Off a disappointing loss to Chelsea in the CL, our intrepid Ajax warriors take on Feyenoord on Sunday in the first Klassiker of the season. Enough said!
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
PSV vs AZ match -- 22nd min -- AZ having the better of the play so far -- PSV's Thomas is red carded -- let's hope AZ will go on from here to win the match.
Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
That's the way to start a match! (AZ whupped PSV, btw).
Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
Just got in from a cycle ride and saw the goal .Great start.
2-0 Tagliafico
2-0 Tagliafico

3-0 Neres now lets go for 6 or 7-0
Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
Feyenoord look just dreadful. I cannot see Jaap Stam lasting the season with what is going on. Players look like they have no clue. Too bad Ajax were not playing with this kind of fluidity against Chelsea.

Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
Best half of football that I've seen so far this year. Vermeer (I've always liked him - fantastic shot stopper) made three 'sure goal' saves to keep the score from being even higher.
Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
turning out to be a great day with this result so far and the psv score
Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
4-0 and game over ,a great 45 mins for us. Now is the time to put on Gravenberch and Traore
Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
That's because Ajax were outplayed in midfield by Jorginho and co. That said, van de Beek dropping deeper in midfield makes a world of difference. I would prefer Ziyech than Promes as the number ten. Promes is effective on the flankOrange14 schreef:Feyenoord look just dreadful. I cannot see Jaap Stam lasting the season with what is going on. Players look like they have no clue. Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
Shame it was not 7-0 but in the 2nd half we played in 1st gear and treated it like a training session and stillFeyenoord had zero chances or little possession. Feyenoord were dreadful and even RKC bottom with 1 point looked superior to this Rotterdam shower.
I read a headline yesterday which said Feyenoord may get lucky and Ajax will settle for 3 goals ,well we settled for 4 so they were lucky.
Stam is a poor coach ,will he survive beyond the winter break !
Glad Gravenberch got 20 mins but Traore should have got the same time ,these are Jong Ajax's 2 best players and they need to get playing time in the 1st .

Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
Dominating play by Ajax and only some fine saves from Vermeer kept the score from getting really out of hand. Passing and pressing were first rate and the few chances Feyenoord created were short circuited by their own sloppy play and poor decision making. Onana was a bit fortunate with the clean sheet as two breakaways ended up in futility.
Player Ratings:
Onana (6.5) - not much to do in terms of making tough saves
Tagliafico (7.5) - finely take goal and really all over the pitch
Blind (8) - anticipation was first rate and I don't think he made a bad pass all match long
Veltman (7.5) - some good interventions and solid play
Dest (7) - good going forward and his passing was fine; a couple of problems on defense that need to be corrected
Martinez (7.5) - bossed the MF today
van de Beek (8) - good play in all aspects of the game
Promes (7.5) - solid game with passing and finding open space
Ziyech (7.5) - excellent on the ball and squeezed a nice shot past Vermeer for the match winner
Tadic (7) - did some good work holding the ball and finding the players who were in dangerous areas
Neres (7.5) - played the full 90 with a nice goal and very good movement off the ball
Gravenberch (6) - got more than a run out today and had some good touches
Alvarez (5.5) - on late in the central defense
Traore (NR) - on with only a couple of minutes left
Away to PEC Zwolle next week

Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
Serginho Dest needs to be benched, I want to see Alvarez partner Blind for the next game, plus Veltman at right back is more solid, especially coming up against Pulisic when Ajax face Chelsea away in the CL. It's no coincidence that the assist for the Chelsea goal came from the right side of Ajax's defense. Glad to see Neres back, and back scoring, let's hope he found his form and remains consistent.
Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
Two seemingly irrelevant questions:
1) Why was PSV playing with so many changes?
2) What the hell does Gravenberch mean by saying he will be here next year too. His contract runs out after that. Is he leaving for free?
P. S. It seems that Ziyech "likes" to get frustrated on his own. OK, I get it, you wanna play the whole game, but the manager decides and his attitude on the bench isn't nice and could raise unnecessary questions...

2) he’s out of contract next year and because of his age he cannot sign a new contract until May next year.
Ziyech is not in the best of forms at the moment. That’s provably why he’s a bit frustrated. He’ll get over it.

Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
4–0 was nice but Ajax really took their foot off the gas after the break - I was hoping for 6 or more at half time.
I see the Feyenoord fans are blaming Stam but to be fair on him their squad is awful. I’m trying to remember a weaker Feyenoord. All those years we moaned about Sigthorsson, at least we never had Jørgensen and Botteghin playing for Ajax!

Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
Have to say I have not seen a poorer Feyenoord side for many years.Lucky Ajax did play the 2nd half in 1st gear and treated it like a training session otherwise it might have been 10 -0.
On Gravenberch as his contract runs to 2021 and Raiola is his agent there has been talk he wont sign a new longer contract at the end of this season, when he reaches 18.Thus Ajax will have to sell him in the summer rather than let him run down his contract next season.
Gravenberch and his family have indicated he wants to develop here but his comment yesterday might suggest different.

Re: 27 OCT 2019; Ajax - Feyenoord; Match Day 11
A great first 45 minutes by us and then we dropped into 1st gear. We were all over Feyenoord in the first 30 minutes and they were lucky it was only 4-0 at HT. As all of us already recognize, Feyenoord has bigger problems than Stam being the manager.
Also, not sure if I liked Ziyech throwing tantrums after he was subbed off. Everyone wants to play all the time. I get it. But that's exactly why over the past 2-3 years we've not had 3-4 players who could've stepped in when we were faced with injuries/fatigue.
Alvarez-Martinez in MF really doesn't give us anything and I'm glad ETH went back to Donny in a more recessed role and Ziyech as #10. Promes/Neres played really well on the flanks.
Also, Traore looked really good for the 5 minutes which we was on.
