Vermeer will now of course have a blinder v Man City( as long as he remembers his feet are for standing on and not for kicking a ball)

I do not understand how a professional athlete who presumably practices this kind of stuff all day long cannot kick a ball downfield. Do not get it.

I too cannot comprehend it either. The same with how a pro footballer can only kick a ball with one foot . I am right footed as such but when I used to play with my kids I could kick and pass with my left foot just as easy.

Hope Vermeer has a good game tonight though.

Some keepers just cannot kick and I think after a time it becomes mental. Oliver Kahn who was just great for Bayern and the German NT was as bad or worse than Vermeer. I saw some kicks that went only about 20-30 meters!
