No I do not follow Crawley and would not go and watch them even if it is for the Helmond Cup

Right... We missed a few things. I wasn't aware that the new date for Crawley Town vs Crewe Alexandra was actually before Bury vs Crewe Alexandra.

But it was - and Crewe lost to Crawley, who grabbed the Helmond Cup, drew with Stevenage and then (today) lost at Shrewsbury Town.

So, Shrewsbury are the new and current Helmond Cup holders!

Nice one: Yeovil Town won it back!

They had a pretty good Helmond Cup run in February, lost it (but kept winning) and now grabbed it back by beating Shrewsbury.

Yeovil are 3rd in League One with four games left to play. The top two (Doncaster Rovers and AFC Bournemouth) seem too far away (seven and five points, respectively), but I think there are play-offs for a third promotion slot...?

Ha ha, there certainly are play offs in League 1 yes. Yeovil Town have been in them once before and got to the final at Wembley.

Oldham beat Crawley 2-1 so its still with Oldham

Oldham keep the Helmond Cup, which means that the trophy will almost certainly spend the summer in League One. Chances of 'promotion and 'relegation' are very, very small.

Oldham themselves are 18th, five points away from the relegation zone with two games left to play. They're pretty much safe.

This upcoming Tuesday they play at Shrewsbury, who are 19th and four points clear of the relegation zone.

If Oldham keep the Helmond Cup they play Leyton Orient on the last day. They are 7th and still have a tiny chance to qualify for the play-offs (numbers 3 to 6), but they're four points behind the current number six.

If Shrewsbury win the Helmond Cup on Tuesday and then lose it to Portsmouth on the last day, the Helmond Cup might go down to League Two with Pompey.

As you can tell, 'relegation' for the Helmond Cup is more likely than 'promotion', but the by far most likely option is that it will stay in the large centre group of League One - and start the new season in the same competition.

The tiny chance that the Helmond Cup would get promoted to the Championship (via Leyton Orient and the play-offs) is now officially gone.

What remains is a chance that it will go down with Portsmouth (bottom and officially relegated), to League Two...

I wasn't aware of this: Shrewsbury v Bolton was a match for the League Cup!

Bolton Wanderers are in the Championship (level 2). And they won! So, the Helmond Cup went from level three to level two.
