OK Folks....let's give it a go. Don't forget it's a seasonlong thing, but you need to start with €10.
Bet for 26/08/2006
Liberec v Brno (Czech 1) 1/7
Panathinaikos v Ionikos (Greece 1) 1/2
Beveren Waas v Mouscron (Belgium 1) 6/4
Just to start, let's try €2 TREBLE for a €6.5 profit.
Back on Saturday night for reults. FINGERS CROSSED!!

I have followed your tips but not trebled them and added bets for wins for Ajax, Utrecht and Gretna. Need to see how good you really are before commiting to trebles :D

Yeh - but was also wondering about Melbourne Victory - what do our friends down under reckon - are they worth a punt?
BTW I have a feeling the mods will move this thread to Not the Nine O'Clock News

A good friend of mine at North Haven School says that Adelaide are "
confident of all 3 points this Friday."
I'm going to give Adelaide the win....but I'm leaving it alone - first match of the season!!
If you're going to have a punt, follow it on

Gentlemen
As a regular user of the Ajax USA Board and upstanding member of the Wee Free Kirk I am most disappointed that you are using this board to extol the virtues of gambling, a most sinful action. I call upon our glorious moderator to ban this thread immediately as it is a corrupting influence on our members around the globe, especially those of a youthfull nature.
Next you shall be starting threads extolling the pleasures of alcoholic beverages and of fornication with ladies of loose moral fibre. Sinful and shameful is what it is.
I ask that you now repent from these sinful ways and repent or you shall burn in the fiery furnaces of hell.
While I am here, I also call upon Amstersdam Football Club Ajax to refrain from playing football matches on the Sabbath. Are you not aware that our Lord God deemed the Sabbath a day of rest and therefore the playing of football on this most holy of days is another mortal sin.
Repent now you sinners

Sir.....
We ARE NOT GAMBLING! We are just trying to find generous sponsors, like BET365 and BETFAIR, who are prepared to donate money to the poor ,suffering and distant supporters of Ajax Amsterdam. These generous benefactors make it possible for these unfortunate people to experience what you take for granted....First Class Football.

Ah my poor deluded man,
Dont you realise that these companies are the spawn of the evil one. No goodness shall come of this venture. He is tempting you with the chance of funds to go to the Sodom and Gomorrah of Europe where the citizens indulge in the worst kind of unholy behaviour - drinking of alcohol, abuse of mind-bending substances and sins of the flesh of a most ungratifying nature with evil harlots tempting you from their neon lit windows. Repent now or you are forever doomed, DOOMED I say.
He also tempts you with the promise of first class football. Alas my poor man, not much first class football has been seen in that city since the disciples of the evil one, Messrs Koeman and Blind, tried to destroy the holy temple created by St Johann of Cruyff. But help is at hand in a country next to your own God foresaken land. Venture forth to the dear green place also know as Glasgow in God's chosen land. Go to the North West of that dear city and you will come across a mystical place where first class football is always guaranteed - it is forever enshrined in the holy book and is known as Firhill. There you will find a most supreme football team - Partick Thistle. Follow them until his disciple Henk of the Ten Cats destroys the shambles left in Amsterdam by the disciples of the evil one and returns the Ajax to their throne.
Repentance is at hand - repent now and all shall be forgiven my son.
:D

Dear Jammy, may I on behalf of Ian and my goodself thank you for the time in trying to turn us away from this path of evil. Unfortunately I am even more hooked since the 14:45 at Newmarket came in at 5/2.
You must realise as well that we have been pushed down this path by the poor wages we are both paid by the government for keeping the education system going in our country - it is not that we are weak and cannot fight temptation but that we need to follow this course to be able to feed, house and clothe our beloved families.
I hope that you will say a prayer for our souls next time you are in church

Good choice to leave it alone because its "Victory" all the way...C'mon Boys...everyone on the bandwagon :eusa_dance:
Actually we either need to finish as minor premiers or Grand Final winners for a place in the Asian Champions League...1 from 1. Its ours ;)

So if the New Zealand team (can't remember the name) won the the A-League, would they go into the Asian Champions League? I assume the answer is yes.
There's been loads of times in the UK with Welsh teams playing in the English league, Northern Ireland teams in Southern Ireland league etc but this is two different confederations so that could get complicated???

Hmmm. Given the New Zealand Knights performance last year this isn't likely ;)
Seriously though. Thats a good question. I haven't heard any mention of them being ineligable if they do...over to our NZ man. Frans - can you confirm?

Nice one, but I have moved it to the 'normal' zone. I know it's got to do with matches, but I want to keep the matches zone 'clean' (that is: exclusively for match threads).

Same situation in Schwitzerland, where they have allowed a lower-division team from Lichtenstein to play in a Schweiz league.

Yeah, I've seen that, it actually goes on quite a lot, there is an English team (Berwick Rangers) in the Scottish league and a Scottish team (Gretna) played for years in the English leagues. There are also Welsh and English teams in each others leagues etc but that all comes under UEFA. I just think things could be more interesting/complicated with teams from different FIFA confederations (or am I just being an anorak??)

I assume they would go in. They have no avenue to qualify for the oceania club champs. But as Dan said, there's not much chance of having to worry about it anyway. As far as I can recall The knights/kingz have been last every year except their first, when they were coached by Wynton Rufer. And they were in a playoff for last place (I think they lost) in a warmup competition before this year's league.
