I think Kenneth Taylor will be the #10. He was quite good on the U-21 team in the recent Euros at that position. MF will be Tahirovic, van den Boomen, and Taylor.

I think Taylor has a problem with committing to his defensive duties. Especially when, as in last season, he lost the ball or made wrong passes. Which happened a lot. Maybe "hiding" him on 10 could be a solution, until he progresses as a player

So far buying has been a bit shambolic . We sold Jurrien over a month ago and still chasing the Croatian lad at Zagreb but his price is going up they are not selling yet and we must move on .We should have had Jurrien's replacement signed a month ago plus a 2nd striker in place.

A new no 10 wont get signed until Kudus is sold but we only get quoted the Armenian lad in Russia and our Board have said we must not buy anyone from Russia.

If we can get another LCD in then Hato can play LB as he is better than Salah-Eddine and anyone is better than Wijndal. Sanchez and Rensch are dreadful RB's but we cannot start trying to sell and buy fullbacks at this stage when we have only 2 Cd.

Expect some signings this week .

Taylor can’t pass or shoot. 10 sounds like just about the worst spot for him. So you’re probably right and that’s the plan.

Tomorrow I'll be watching the full game between AEK and Dinamo Zagreb. I'll try and keep an eye on Sutalo, although I don't believe he'll end up in Ajax. I know that AEK are a super high pressing team, that will undoubtedly put a lot of pressure in the Croatian defense. Let's see what happens.
I also think that Medic will be a starter against Heracles. Can't see Aertssen playing as a basic player

Both AD and ESPN.nl has confirmed the arrival of Sutalo. Finally puts an end to this drawn out saga.

One of the hold ups is the CL qualifier return match this week. Dinamo want him in the line up for the game.

Think he will come in next Friday. We are lucky we have Heracles today Excelsior next week and no games 26th weekend .24th and 31st Bulgaria or Kazakstan!! 4 games in August against easy opponents which we should win although not saying we will with our present defence.

We are signing Chuba Akpom a 28 year old English striker from Championship Middlesbrough for 12m plus 2m add ons .He scored 28 goals last season and the championship is a very good league.A decent amount for a striker and we do need another striker as Brobbey misses way too many chances .

You know him. From the games with PAOK. I've seen him for a couple of years in the Greek League. He reminds me of a more mature/effective Brobbey. He likes to get out of the area, to move with the ball. He shoots from a distance. Can go to the wings and dribble an opponent. He is physical, jumps high for headers. Haven't seen him in Middlesbrough though. Still I think 12+2 are a lot for him, but buying from England is tricky

Chuba Akpom deal apparently done. Had a great year at Middlesbrough playing as a roaming #10 after playing his entire career as a #9 and not having much success.

Not announced by Ajax yet.

Also rumours of Sutalo playing his last game for Zagreb today and coming to us before the return leg of their CL qualifiers on Saturday.

Not too familiar with Akpom. Interesting that AS says “competition for Brobbey”, even though from what you say Amol it sounds like he may actually be an AMF?

That would be fine with me as I don’t rate Taylor or Berghuis, and Klaasen seems to be past it.

We also might be getting a young Danish RB as Sanchez looks to be going to Porto.

Akpom 12.3m plus 2m add ons is a decent price for an Englishman championship is a good level.

We are getting some unknown Dane as RB for 2m .I read he was a forward a year ago. Not excited about him as Rensch is not good enough.

We still need 2 x CD and we need 2 decent full backs as Rensch and Salah-Eddine are ok backups.Wijndal just loan him out to Volendam.
