Places to watch the World Cup!

(Ko: feel free to merge this with the other WC thread if you think it doesn't merit its own thread.)
ATers:
Most of us aren't going to attend the actual WC, so we'll have to watch it on tv, either at home or in a bar.
We know that there are Ajaxtalkers (and lurkers) all across the globe. It would make sense, in the name of perpetuating Ajax-bonds, that these people, when possible, get together to talk/watch footy and discuss Ajax, not to mention drink the odd beer or two.
With that in mind, I suggest we use this thread to discuss places where our regional factions can get together to watch the world's greatest sporting event.
I'll kick it off.
I have noticed that there are several ATers that live in/around Washington DC. I'd love to meet you (in fact I've tried to get together with some of you already) at some location where we can watch the US/Holland or any other team play. I encourage you all (and any lurkers) to pipe up and be heard. This is serious business. :alc:
Here's to rooting for our teams and to deepening out ties as Ajacieden.

In Germany go to Neurenberg, nice cultural setting. If you aint goin to Germany even outside the stadium, then go to clubs/bars.
I only know in Japan, go to Roppongi bars with Dutch embassy people

We got a new member who claims to be from Washington, called Verheek. Don't forget to invite him. He is a bit strange, because he uses a Dutch broadband provider to post from Washington ;)

Yup that's my plan :alc: although I'll be in staying in Bremen with trips to Hamburg and Hannover. The Swedish squad is based in Bremen, so maybe I can get myself a Rosenberg autograph

Watching the WC in Philadelphia. Should be several pubs in the Olde City area. The one I'll be hitting is The Dark Horse, formerly called Dickens Inn. if last WC is any indication, DH had full houses at 2:30 am to watch the US or England, this year should see large crowds.Found a few Cloggies watching matches there, most ex-pats now living in Philly area, during Euro 2004.

I think De Hems in Macclesfield Street, Soho, London W1 (near Leicester Square and Chinatown) is well known to UK users on here. I've never actually been to watch Holland games there (just Ajax) but I'm sure that they will be showing them and will get a good crowd...

Last week of June I'm on a course in London so I might stop at the Hems if Holland is playing.

Visiting or otherwise in or around
Los Angeles? Drop me a PM and we could go to the Phoenix club in Anaheim. This is the German club in SoCal. They just built a great biergarten and are showing all matches on Giant screen and many smaller screens.
Alternatively, there are many sports bars in LA that will host World Cup matches
This is allegedly the top ten:
1) Yard House - Long Beach - Irvine Spectrum - Pasadena Paseo Colorado Mall
2) Q's billiards - Old Town Pasadena and West Los Angeles
3) Hollywood Billiards
4) Barneys Beanery - West Hollywood
5) Weber's Place - Reseda
6) Fantasia Billiards - Burbank
7) Gotham Hall - Santa Monica
8) Yankee Doodles--Santa Monica
9) Underground Pub & Grill - Hermosa Beach
10) Grand Avenue Sports Bar in the Biltmore Hotel Downtown Los Angeles

1) The Cock and Bull. English pub. Great soccer vibe. Watched quite a few international matches there. On Lincoln in Santa Monica.
