Ajax Programmes, Magazines & Fanzines

Does anyone know if the match programme for each game (Kick Off) is available from the Ajax fan shop on the morning of a game.

I have been lucky enough to get a ticket for Ajax v Inter Milan, and was thinking of getting a programme as soon as the fan shop opens at 9:30am.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Cheers,
NICK

No idea nick468, but I assume you're asking because you want to make sure you can get one before they sell out. If that's the case, don't worry, it won't sell out, to be honest this seasons version is very small and hardly worth the 1 Euro it costs (I still buy them) so you will easily get one right up till the match starts. I'm sure if you ask though, you'll be able to get one first thing in the morning.

Thanks SE6Ajacied!

When i'm in Amsterdam, i've got people coming up from Nijmegen with stuff for me from when I used to live there, so I will be putting my (heavy)bag in a 24h locker at the airport, so I thought I might as well put everything, including the match programme in there.

I don't want to get refused entry to the ArenA on the basis of having a heavy bag - I just dont want to take the risk :D.

I was sure there was somewhere else to post this, but unless I am being blind, this looks as good a place as any.

In the latest 4-4-2 magazine (Australian Ed.), there is a 5 page write up under 'More than a game' section about the Ajax-Feyenoord rivalry.

As this is a local release of the same 442 mag released in the UK with Australian info included, I am assuming it will appear in Europe as well, if it hasn't already.

Its not a bad write up. The journo sat with the F-Side for the game. He also interviewed both sides with a classic quote from Danny "one of the main Feyenoord lads" Apparently, he doesn't like Ajax or Amsterdammers and their "stupid accents". :D

Interesting read. I was surprised our own Mr Pot wasn't interviewed though ;)

Hehe :D

You know... they didn't call me (why would they?), but even if they had: 'our own Mr Pot' turns this kind of thing down. I want to be interviewed either as a writer or as a journalist. Not as 'a supporter'. The only exceptions were a few things that I thought were nice and positive, and had a certain promotional value for my book in the first months after it was published. And even then I always answered the questions as a writer, a journalist or simply as me. Never as 'a supporter'.

Just my philosophy.

This is pretty cool...

The official programme for Ajax home games (named Kick Off) will be better-looking and larger this season, and it will have more pages, but it will also be available for free from now on. Every spectator will be offered a copy at the turnstiles.

Check this news report (in Dutch only):
http://www.ajax.nl/web/show/id=154417/contentid=63785

The Slavia Prague issue looks pretty good, I must say. Nice service, this, courtesy of the club and the sponsors.

It is a good thing the magazine for free. Most Dutch clubs give away a sort of magazine for free before every home match.
But offcourse this will be the best mag.!

Re-posting...

(I don't blame you for not finding this one, by the way... I had to dig pretty deep).
SE6Ajacied schreef:OK so here's a thing. Someone on Ebay was selling a 1999-2000 Ajax Season Guide. Only 99p so I couldn't resist buying it but was really surprised when it arrived today written in English including a decent 14 page club history and some other stuff.

Question is, when and why did they stop publishing in languages other than Dutch as there's surely a market for it. I know there's stuff available on the internet but I much prefer a book/magazine/newspaper to reading on a computer screen.

Not intended to be a big criticism or anything, more of an explanation, very pleased with what I've bought (and there's probably a dedicated thread for this I know but couldn't be bothered to look)
