I never really got the point of PMs anyway. It's basically mail, but with a shitty client :)Kowalczyk schreef:Hey folks,
DanK and I just noticed that there is something wrong with the PM service of this forum... We sent each other a PM a few times, received e-mail notification, but when we checked our inboxes there was nothing there. This happened to me twice in the past two days and it just happened to Dan. So, basically, you send a PM, the recipient receives e-mail notification, but the actual PM never arrives to his inbox.
Or something... Did anyone else notice this?
I just sent e-mail (not a PM...) to Drecul, our Ajax Talk technician and wizzkid.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I think he just quit.philippe schreef:I was wondering what had become of Edwin, the former webmaster of Ajaxmania ? He did a great job, and was very friendly with fans from abroad.
Not sure, phpBB isn't that great... For example, it don't "save" the post you haven't read yet. I mean, you visit the forum, you see you have some unread posts. You haven't the time to read everything so you come back later to finish the reading, but all the posts are now marked as read... Really boring. ;)aveslacker schreef:Plus the forum software is much, much better.
just to answer the original question: i'm american, but live in glorious mokum! :smile-ajax:DerKaiser schreef:To all people on this forum..

I don't think this is all bad. For example I don't always have the time (want :hypocrite: ) to read the musics post that I don't understand shit about. The music thread would always be on top as I don't read it that much, if the forum would "save" the posts you haven't read yet.Cedric_AeF schreef: Not sure, phpBB isn't that great... A board like SMF doesn't have this problem.
Yup. Same here...Cedric_AeF schreef:And I forgot to say that I had recently a curious a problem with this board and my firewall (Norton). Most of the time, the server of Ajaxtalk seemed to be down, but I figured out that it was my firewall which was the problem. I had to add the IP adress of this board into the list of authorised adress...
My firewall works just fine... I think it has something to do with the fact that I don't use Windows ;)Kowalczyk schreef:Yup. (This is being a really teccy topic ;) ) Mine's fine too but I'm happily windows-ing. I had the same problem with E-bay though and had to add a new server address to my set-up but then the whole thing crashed on me completely X'C Ajaxtalk is always OK though.carcajou schreef:My firewall works just fine... Hello all, used to post on Soccerpages and I have been lurking here, but have not registered until now...should be interesting.aveslacker schreef:I agree with Ko. I was a bit nervous when we all came over from Soccerpages, and it seems we've lost a few posters in the switch, but this place is far superior. Several new members have come aboard, (plus some of the dutch forum regulars contribute frequently) which has greatly enhanced the experience. So I'm glad we made the switch. Plus the forum software is much, much better.
I checked the Soccerpages forum not that long ago, and it was completely empty.
Welcome Leglaen :xyxthumbs:Leglaen schreef: Hello all, used to post on Soccerpages and I have been lurking here, but have not registered until now...should be interesting.
Yeah, I must say that I have been quite the lurker here, but I have kept up with the forum. I think that this is a vast improvement upon the Soccerpages and congratulate Ko and Jim on their work.
What's the nickname of this dude? I can't find him...SE6Ajacied schreef:Today though we seem to have a whole load of purely advertsing sites including a very dodgy looking porn site on member 1073 - any chance of it coming down.
All gone Ko, someone's taken all of them down already :xyxthumbs: . There were about 5 or 6, all new members from the same day (which was only 1 hour old when I looked!) and all with weblinks. One was called something or other "ringtones" which sort of gave their game away - anyway, all gone, we're clean again, no :pukey: !Kowalczyk schreef:What's the nickname of this dude?
