I suggest that we start a poll to determine our "best player of the season". Not sure how it works though....
Anyway, my vote goes to : Anastasiou !

Half of my vote goes to Julien Escude. Had a rough start to the season, but acted and behaved like a true professional; always trying to learn from his own mistakes and improve himself. He can definitley set an example for many other youngsters in the team. To top it all off, Escude has been the most consistent player this year, together with Trabelsi.

The other half of my vote goes to Trabelsi. No explanation needed, i presume.

I voted for Escude, but where's Sneijder? Certainly he should at least be on the list?

My vote goes to Escudé. In my book he's a noselength ahead of Trabelsi. My #3 would be Vonk and #4 Grygera. Youngster of the year: Maduro.

I disagree... Ryan babel should be loaned out next season, and we should buy a new striker!

Sorry, Yannis is still my man - Escude and Sneijder as well but with Trabelsi I've been including all the cr*p with contracts as a negative mark. :redcard:

I've included your PSV quote - I like the sentiment but I'm afraid it's evidence of the laughing juice so I'm taking the diss against Mr A in the same context. ;)

Really I'm hoping he gets Player of Year which means Ajax cannot avoid taking notice of such a highly rated poll and he gets that new contract... :D

Anastasiou's last minute clever moves saved Ajax and gave us the 3 points at least on four occasions : Den Bosch (assist on the first goal), feyenoord (assist on the last winner goal), against Roda JC (winning goal) and yesterday against De Graafschap (the winning goal).
Although he has not played very much.
So he was ver efficient.
And I do not rembember that we have lost a game because any blunder or miss of his (see ?).

My vote goes to Zlatan - nobody has come anywhere close to the brilliance he showed against NAC.

Most consistent player has to be SQD.

Correct statement to a large degree there Per. However, if you look back, my posts were more arguing the toss against the tide that said he was the next best thing to sliced-bread and the hype that people gave him. At first I thought that the Zlado twins were crap and not a patch on the previous greats that they were being compared to. I slowly changed my mind about Zlatan (but still feel the same about Mido) but I still don't put him in the great category.
Having said all of that his goal against NAC was absolutely brilliant and will be the only reason to buy the season's DVD.

Not the only reason : there will be many very funny moments with missed scoring chances and defender blunders. :D

with the addition of me only seing a handful of full games and mostly having to cope with extended highlights and match reports.....I voted Escude.

I think he will next season be the person to really trust in the backbone of the team!

No I don't think you can....my quote is an old election joke about vote rigging.

BTW I voted for Yannis (on a point of principle as mentioned by others on this board), but would be happy to see SQD get it....the rest of them all have at least one black mark against them from some point in this miserable season.

I've seen too few Ajax games this season. The times I've seen Grygera he's been very good though, and based on those occations (especially when he took care of Zlatan in the Juventus game) he'll get my vote.

But as I can see from the results, Escudé seems to have been the by far best Ajacied this year.
