Rafael van der Vaart has been suspended for four matches, of which one conditional, by the Royal Dutch Football Association KNVB.
Van der Vaart was suspended because of the red card he received in the match against PSV (2-2) last Sunday.
His suspension is effective immediately. The vice-captain of Ajax will therefore miss the match against league number 2 AZ on Saturday in the Amsterdam ArenA. Van der Vaart will also be a spectator in the away match against ADO Den Haag, on 9 November, and the home game against sc Heerenveen (23 November).
