In what position did Kudus play?

Isn't Taylor 17? so he will be the second choice behind Martinez?

Kudus played in Donny's position - box to box on the right hand side

Taylor is now 18,Rensch and Unuvar are both 17 and not 18 until next year.

For those who watched the 1st half were Alvarez and Marin as bad as I have read?

Alvarez was worse IMO than Marin. I didn't really understand what he was trying to do at any point - just a lot of running about. Marin on the other hand was at least trying to move the ball forward. You can probably 'carry' one of these two in the MF - never both.

In terms of MF - Marin brings more than Alvarez. We should send Alvarez out on loan so that he at least keeps getting playing time somewhere. No one will buy him this year of course.

Rensch did decent and I totally didn't realize that he's only 17.

Could Alvarez play as a "secret" 3rd defender that is stationed in midfield? Waiting for the full backs to go forward and him joining the defense to form a 3man defense?

That's what he did in the Utrecht match which is the only one that I've seen. We will see how all this shakes out over the next two weeks.

Easy 4-1 win over Salzburg today. I carefully watched Alvarez for the 60 minutes he was on the pitch. Other than one really poor back pass he put in a good shift. We'll see how he plays in the remaining friendlies. I was really impressed with Kenneth Taylor who played in the 2nd half. I wasn't sure he would be quick enough at this level but he looks to be the real deal. He also his a rugged defender in the MF.

I would love for Taylor to get more chances, the trouble is, Ajax already have one teen in the line up, Gravenberch, can't have two at the same time, especially not in midfield.

I think Taylor is a better long term prospect than Gravenberch.

I think Taylor is a better long term prospect than Gravenberch.

Don't they play in different positions? Taylor being the holding man while Gravenberch the B2B midfielder?

Jep, on a rainy De Toekomst they are streaming this game live.
Just like against Red Bull Salzburg, plenty of impressive attacks already. Good combination when Rensch scored 0-2.

4-0 at Ht a good work out for our B team so far.

Finished 5-2 Traore 2,Ekkelenkamp 2, Rensch 1. 2 soft goals let in. Mazraoui went off injured right leg not sure how bad.

1-0 at the half against Hertha. Labyad on a free kick that was off a Hertha player with the keeper going the wrong way. Hertha are not creating much and Ajax haven't had many chances either.

There is a cause for concern for Daley Blind, he went to the ground like that, let's hope it's just a blip.

I thought exactly the same thing. Match ended 1-0 with the Labyad free kick the only score. Ajax had a couple of chances in the 2nd half but one hit the post, and Alvarez left a touch too soon on a free kick that he headed in. He had a good match today. Player who was most impressive was Schuurs. He looks a lot quicker this year and his footwork is really good. He has a good chance to have a breakout season.

Schuurs was impressive today. Confident and went for everything. No doubts today.

More important than that - hope that Daley is ok.

Watched up until Blind went off(meal on the table and its only a friendly so I did not bother with last 10mins.Just hoping Daley will be ok)

this is very concerning. his heart likely stopped beating for a very short interval and the defibrillator brought him back. the second incident in a short time. i'm afraid that he might be done with his career.
