Don't get me started. I know the yellow and gold shirt wasn't that popular but at least it looked like a shirt, as opposed to some piece of graffiti art or something. Same goes with the one before, my recent favourite, the plain grey shirt from 2003/2004.Van der Vaart schreef:I liked the new away shirt..I´ll buy that...
better than the 2004-2005 yellow and gold shirt :pukey: :pukey:
This new one is just horrid. Please can we have a shirt designed by someone with a bit of talent/taste. I suppose this would be ok as some sort of training shirt or something but not as the playing kit.....
Anyway, I suppose Bayern Munich, Chelsea, River Plate, Real Madrid etc etc will all be wearing versions of this one next season..........

Err, I think, in fact change that to I'm actually certain, that is a fake from Thailand. You can tell by the fact that they describe the material as "Super A1" quality (if it was a genuine Nike they wouldn't need to do that) and also the price....there are often restrictions on which countries they won't deliver to as well (ie. the one's where customs check for fake shirts).......I'll probably get one nearer the time anyway. Should be able to get one here for about £35,00. Anyway, Perry Sports outside the ArenA sold me a wicked hat in the same design for 15.99 Euro's....Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:

That's the sad thing really...If I wear my political hat (which I try not to on here) they are probably all made by 12 year olds on 50p an hour somewhere like Thailand.666 schreef:I don't want a fake shirt from Thailand, I want an original Nike from Thailand!

Anyway, if I'm going to buy the shirt (and compensate for my guilt by giving money to Friends of the Earth) I want a genuine one.......

Yeah, it looks like it - "It is of SUPERB quality" - this sort of line is always a dead giveaway (if it's a genuine Nike/Adidas etc then you know it's not going to be made of old dishcloth so why say it!) The '.com' address for this seller doesn't exist and they don't even bother to say that the shirts are genuine either........Another dead giveaway is the fact that some sellers do loads and loads of prices at the end of the day the price.Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:Holy crap good thing i bought my ajax shirt at the Arena..... can anybody point me towards a place were they do sell quality original stuff.Kowalczyk schreef:Yeah, that one's fake. 100% sure.

E-bay is so full of fakes that it's probably not worth bothering with. I can recommened "http://www.subsidesports.com/uk/store/index.jsp" as a good UK based store, cheaper than Dutch prices though a US based store might be cheaper postage to where you are.
Good luck and Caveat Emptor
I suppose one more thing at the end of the day...if you want this shirt to keep/frame/treasure then buy a proper one. If it's just to wear around and play football in and you know it will get ruined then you need to make that decision - some of the e-bay ones are a lot cheaper....
You could always try asking the e-bay sellers a direct question "Is this shirt genuine?". E-bay are really cracking down on this now and most sellers probably will not tell a bare-faced lie....

I just looked at the second listing. These look more like it. A more realisitc price and they do actually say that they are genuine which is a start. Feedback for this guy is good too but I still think I'd rather buy from a store that I've actually heard of really.....Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:

you know what would be really cool? if they just made the away shirt the same as the home one except changed the white for black. so a black shirt with a thick red vertical stripe. perhaps a slightly darker shade of red just to make it look darker.
such simple thinking however is beyond most sports companies.
edit: actually, didn't we have a shirt like that once? i can't remember

They had a black away shirt with white central band (and a grey pinstripe) in 1998/99 (I think). I have one and I'm looking at it. Had a plain black rear and not that nice really but I think that's the one you're on about.bryan schreef:you know what would be really cool? if they just made the away shirt the same as the home one except changed the white for black. so a black shirt with a thick red vertical stripe. perhaps a slightly darker shade of red just to make it look darker.

I like your idea but don't think we'll get one like that any time soon - no room for all the wavy lines/strips/flashes or any of the other little "design elements" Adidas and the rest like to put in so that all their shirts look ultimately the same, just different badges/logo's (See also Chelsea/England/AZ Alkmaar etc etc for Umbro shirts with their shoulder flashes!)
