3 good goals , could easily be about 5 or 6-0.Oranje kids far superior to the italians. None of the 6 Ajax stand out but Rencsh looks good in defence,he is only 16 and a year younger than the rest.

Taylor is having a much better game today than in the semi-final the other day.

4-1 Unuvar pure class

Comfortable in the end once Unuvar's bit of pure class made it 4-1. Raatsie's howler for Italy's 2nd the only blemish for the 8 Ajax lads playing.They all look decent talents but Unuvar looks outstanding to me.

Is Unuvar a Nouri type?

Unuvar is a Nouri type of player as he is a very creative player.I have not seen enough of Unuvar and its not fair to compare 2 players though.

After the end of yesterdays game the 8 Ajax players all posed with the trophy with Taylor and Hansen wearing no 34 Nouri shirts.Great to see what he means to our 16 and 17 year olds.

Just for fun I was going back and looking at some other Dutch U17 teams from the past decade. You can find all the rosters on Wikipedia by keying in 'year' UEFA U17. van de Beek and Nouri were on the 2014 team and de Ligt was on both the 2015 and 2016 teams. I think this year's team had the most Ajax youth of any other from this decade.

Yes 8 from Ajax plus Hoever and Allouch were at Ajax.

How did they do? Scherpens and Schuurs that is. I already know that de Wit was very average.

I am no fan of English football but when they play Holland I make no apologies but cheer on the Oranje. So I enjoyed last night.de Ligt made a big mistake but came back got a goal and with V Dijk looked in command of a moderate England side.Frenkie was outstanding and the English press full of praise.We are sure going to miss these 2 young stars.

Bergwijn and Babel didn't impress and the only Dutch player who could improve Ajax is of course v Dijk. How much better Oranje would be if Ziyech had opted for them!

Oranje are on the way back.For all you Dutch lads who read this my love of Oranje dates back to 1974.

Tonight Nations League final (or perhaps some people will watch around 14.00 UK time) the game for the 3th and 4th place Switzerland vs England with a final between Portugal and Holland in Estádio do Dragão, Porto.

Unbelievable Ronaldo did not get booked for his dive on Nathan Aké and reaction to the referee he gave afterwards (...or for 4 or 5 different moments).

Matthijs de Ligt suddenly showed up as right winger with a pretty good Sjaak Swart imitation allowing allowing Babel to score the second goal.

Only caught the 2nd half last night but relief they broke down NI blanket defending in the end especially after the goal that came from a Daley mistake and de Ligt not picking up their goalscorer in the box.

Headline here that Irish were unlucky but parking the bus and 2 shots at goal is not my idea of football .(The U17's had a similar game v Kosova the other night except it finished 1-1 after over 20 shots against them scoring from their only shot.)

Hard work beating Belarus. Wijnaldum's 2nd goal was superb.

7 of the starters from our academy ,includes Bergwijn who left at 14. Plus Cillessen and de Jong thats 9 players with an Ajax connection. The most important player was Wijnaldum who has no connection!

A brief roundup of a great weekend for Oranje at all age groups.All told the various sides recorded 11 wins and 2 draws with Ajax players in every game.

Seniors should now qualify for Euros next summer. U21 won their 2 qualifiers for 2021 Euros and a long way to go but are top and beat Portugal the other main team in the group.

U19 won all 3 of their qualifying group matches and play a final qualifying group in the spring. The U17's top their group and will also play another group stage in the spring.Unlike the u19's they struggled having drawn with lowly Kosova and won the other 2 games 2-1 and 1-0.

U20 had a draw and a win and U18 beat Belgium 3-2 .

U17's play a World Cup at the end of the month and those players born in 2002 and now U18's can play.

U17 World Cup starts for Netherlands on 28 Oct with a qualifying group v Japan,Senegal USA. 8 out of 21 players from Ajax. Raatsie,Rensch,Salah-Eddine,v d Sloot,Taylor,Unuvar,Reeger Hansen. 2 others Brobbey and Kasanwirjo are injured otherwise both would be there.

Only downside is that these players will miss 2x U19 CL games v Chelsea and a couple of league games.
