Didn't catch the game but a good win. A mixture of players ,6 from Young Ajax, some are over age U 18 without contracts and 2x 16 year olds Hato and Vink.

Ajax U-18 take on MTK Budapest in a single qualification match for the UEFA Youth League round of 16. Match will be in Hungary in early February.

EDIT: I made a big mistake on this one. It is actually the Romanian club, MTK Bucharest.

We should not have any trouble with this team.

Watched the U 17 on Ajax youtube channel today . Lost 3-2 to AZ thanks to a clumsy late penalty. Nice article on Ajax showtime about the LCD Dies Janse , a very tall young lad who looks a good defender .The LB Jetten is only 15 and again a good player.
Faberski, the Polish lad ,played as right winger but is left footed looks a very good prospect.

The next 2 Saturdays our U18 are at home to PSV and Feyenoord so both should be shown on their tv channel.

I have no intention of watching any WC in such a dreadful country as Qatar.

I will watch this game and so far I have not watched any WC and dont plan to . Ajax play Blackburn tomorrow 11.00 CET in a friendly ,so I might catch some of it.

Everyone will now be watching Oranje but I just enjoyed our U18 stuffing Feyenoord 5-0 and it could have been 8 or 9 nil.

1-0 at Ht but Sky Vink went off to hospital ,leg injury,wish him well . In the 2nd half the subs improved things as Muzambo, the Belgium lad ,moved from the wing back to his proper no 10 position and Gorter at 8 ,far better than Chahid, improved MF.
Other subs Speksnijder a left footed right winger impressed me and Hamouchi at 9 with 2 goals showing there is some talent in the squad.

Hato aged 16 and 17 year olds Vos and Misehouy played for our 1st today so some talent coming through.

2 points from yesterday ,the F side were present maybe 300 or so chanting, singing, banging a drum and giving a good atmosphere although I am told they sang bomb Rotterdam ,which is sick.

Skye Vink broke his fibula so best wishes.At 16 ,he has played regularly for U18 this season and yet has no contract.

U19 CL today v MTK Budapest in Hungary ,Ko 18.00 CET .Its on Ziggo tv in Holland so should be streams .I may only catch the 2nd half ,if I can get a stream. Misehouy,Banel,Gooijer the only Young squad players but Sarfo and Muzambo ,both U18 regulars are injured.

Its a one off game ,winners to last 16.

U19 won 1-0 and go through to last 16 .Misehouy scored from the penalty spot and in injury time Setford saved a penalty. I missed the game ,maybe very cold at present but a beautiful sunny day here on the south coast and I went for a lengthy cycle along the seafront and got back late. I did look for a stream but that was near the end of the game and couldn't find one.

I watched the last 16 minutes and Ajax were very much in control. they really should have had a second goal but there was some poor passing on break outs and a fine save by the BTK keepper. Late penalty was for a hand ball in the box. The resulting PK was poor and easily saved by Tommy Setford.

Ajax U-18 have drawn Sporting in the UEFA Youth League. It is a single match and will be in Lisbon later this month. AZ are also still in the competition and take on Barcelona.

Sporting always have a good youth academy so will be tough .Muzambo ,our best u18 is fit again but looking ahead we have 5 overage players in our U18 squad , no news of them getting contracts although 2 or 3 have had an odd sub appearance for Young Ajax.(Sarfo,V Bohemen and Viereck but they are defenders)

Watched a very poor Ajax lose 2-1 to Feyenoord. They were 2-0 up on the hour but we missed a penalty about 78 min mark and our only goal came late into ET. Cannot say one player impressed but we started with only 4 contracted players and 3 subs also contracted came on late.

U-18 team takes on Sporting in Lisbon this Wednesday in the UEFA Youth League. It's a single knock out match. Aertsen, Vos, Banel, Goojier and Jermoumi from Jong Ajax are in the squad. Misehouy apparently has an ankle injury which is why he has been missing recent matches. He is not fit for this week's match.

The U-18 match is televised by Ziggo Sports Wednesday. I think it is 07.00 Eastern Standard Time (my time in Bethesda). I have an IPTV subscription and can get Ziggo so I hope to watch it.

Going out today ,its 13.00 CET so will miss it .A strong lineup with a few Young Ajax players

Ajax U-18 are having a nightmare of a match and are really fortunate to be down only 1-0. Setford had four really fine saves. the Sporting right back is chewing up the AJax left FB (I don't know the faces well enough to know who it is). Too many bad touches and passes. Sporting must have at least 60% or more of the posession and I don't think Ajax even have a shot on goal. Aertsen has been decent along with Vos but that's about it.

It was a horror show for the Ajax U-18s. Sporting were physically and technically so much better and it ended up 5-1. the Ajax goal came late on a free kick where Goojer got free and volleyed the ball over the keeper. the Sporting right wing, Fatawu Issasaku toyed with the left FBs from Ajax van Bohemen (who was mercifully subbed off for Henry at the half) and got a hat trick. the other two goals came off shots that Setford could not handle well and sent them right to Sporting attackers for easy tap ins. Aertsen was maybe the best player for Ajax. Ajax had only the one shot on frame while Sporting had 14. I don't think there are many quality players on this side unfortunately.

I may be harsh on the U-18 team. The Sporting side was a true U-19 team and the pacey right winger is already on the Sporting first team and Ghana NT. He came on as a sub in the recent World Cup.

Just reading the reports on Showtime and I note Sporting had a Ghanaian Int and 4 other lads all older , you can play lads from 2003 but we would not play Regger,Fitz-Jim or Rensch.Hato and V A Dongen also left out .

Still a bad beating but our U18 squad is not that special .As I posted yesterday 16 out of 24 in that U18 squad are not contracted and today 3 of the 8 U18 under contract Henry, Agougil and Boerhout started as subs.( T Setford only 16,Muzambo,Speksnijder,Kalokah the other contracted lads,Vink missing injured.)

AZ beat Barca 3-0 in Spain !

Watched all todays Ajax u18 v PSV u 18 and it ended 2-2 .Ajax marking for their first was poor but their 2nd was a shot from outside the box. No one at Ajax really stood out but CD Agougil impressed me.15 year old Lucas Jetten a regular for U17 debuted at LB and played well.Another Hato type.He is not 16 until June.

Bad news Henry the Cd went down with a possible knee injury and it looked bad and later Chourak seemed to injury a shoulder both sounded in pain and I hope they are ok.
