Very bad news : injured till the winter break.

well. we are a little f****d. I bet de jong will be in the spits (and will do some great games and some awful ones) with bulykin still on the bench. for sure we have lost the player who was improving our team in respect to last season

Just saw this as well. I don't think that this one was the result of one of the dangerous challenges on Sunday. We seem to have more injuries this season than in the last two combined. I think de Jong needs to move into the striker position and a more fluid midfielder added to the line up. What I really would like to see is the Barca approach that FdB was using in the pre-season with Ozbiliz at #9 with Anita, Eriksen and Sererro in the midfield. This would really give us a more fluid and faster attacking football team.

Maybe it will help AJAX and more FdB to build a DIFFERENT midfield!!! Not that we have an equal replacement... Now the things are getting worse and our youngsters should step up

Anyone know what the KNVB rule on loaned players is? Is it possible to recall Castillion at any point in the season or is he at Walwijk for the whole season? I guess the same thing applies to Sneijder. I just don't know how it works here. I think in England a player can be recalled but only if they have been loaned for a specific period of time or to a team in a lower division.

I think it has to do with the agreement the two teams made... Who knows!?

I read in Goal.com, that he could be back versus the lightbubls. Any truth in these reports?

According to AT5, it will probably be too soon, as well as for Boerrigter and Van der Wiel.

Well at least that means it's not too far away.

I can't wait to have this guy back. He can really make a difference in the decisive weeks.

Kolbeinn is out for at least 4 months cause is undergoing surgery for his shoulder troubles.

Wow, I think he will go down as one of the "could have been". So many injuries... Unfortunate!

Babel signing was huge in hindsight. We would've been in the crapper otherwise.

My assumption is that you're translating it too literally; i.e. he was "messing around" more than actually wrestling.

It seems that he has played only 15 games for Ajax so far. It would seem reasonable to me to look for his permanent replacement.

And do a better job of evaluating their physical fitness. Otherwise this is just more money thrown away.

Ah OK. But in any case, it wasn't a football injury...

Oh dear, this is bad news.

Let's not jump to conclusions about training intensity or mistakes people have made: the two injuries that have kept him sidelined don't have anything to do with each other. Two totally different injuries: ankle and shoulder.

According to Wiki he's been a professional footballer since 2006 and has played a combined total of 52 games for HK, AZ, and Ajax......
