Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
U17 and U19 started competitive season today with super Cup 's at de Toekomst. U17 beat Feyenoord on pens ,game was 2-2 plus ET.
U19 lost to PSV 5-0 ! 8 of the squad are foreign kids which is a high no. Only bright note our U15's beat Arsenal U15 3-0 and our U16 beat Arsenal U16 7-1.

A way too high number in my opinion.SPL schreef:U17 and U19 started competitive season today with super Cup 's at de Toekomst. U17 beat Feyenoord on pens ,game was 2-2 plus ET.

That's a bright note but not such a big news. The Arsenal youth academy is nowhere near the Ajax Amsterdam academy.SPL schreef:Only bright note our U15's beat Arsenal U15 3-0 and our U16 beat Arsenal U16 7-1.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Our U19's beat Heerenveen 5-1 today and 3 debuts . The 2 new SA Solomons and Thethani both came on as sub and also 15 year old Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.I believe he is brother of Denzell ,now with Roselare in Belgium. I did read Raiola was looking to be his agent and therefore EPL beckons. Going to be lost in Chelsea or Manchester.
Because we have lost a few kids overseas ,some because we released them or wouldn't give contracts, we have about 12 OS kids in the U19's .Thats far too many but we have a lot of talents in u16 and U17 and just about all Dutch.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
I just saw today that Sergino Dest is on the US roster for the U-17 World Cup that is coming up. He is from Almere City but also has a US passport, I guess one of his parents is American. He is currently playing for the Ajax U=19 team.
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
I count a lad like Dest as Dutch but the U17 WC will be good experience for him.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Just to follow up Oranje on Young Ajax post our u19 play Hammarby in Sweden tomorrow in the CL for U19's
Sierhuis and Sidoel are the 2 over age players included but apart from 15 year old Gravenberch other players from our U17 are included : Reiziger and Ruijgrok goalies, J Maduro and v Gelderen defenders.
There must be a few injuries as there are about 12 of the U19 squad missing

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
U19's won 4-0 in Hammarby Ekkelenkamp 2 , Nunnely and Gravenberch 1 each
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Excellent outcome. they should move on to the next round as long as they take care of business in Amsterdam.SPL schreef:U19's won 4-0 in Hammarby Ekkelenkamp 2 , Nunnely and Gravenberch 1 each
EDIT: Meant to ask, is the Feynoord U-19 in the competition because of their qualification for the CL? Don't know the answer.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Feyenoord U19 are in the CL U19 due to the seniors.
32 senior clubs in the CL and their U19's play in the same groups as the seniors.Ajax qualify as National U19 champs together with other national U19 champs in a seperate qualifiers and then join the U19 CL main competition in the new year at the knock out stage

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
2nd leg v Hammarby about to start .Youtube AFC Ajax and there is a stream
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Comfortable 2-0 win by our U19.Ylatupa on 34 and Nunnely on 87 the goals. Ylatupa is from Finland.
Ajax Tv showed a very good stream ,wide screen perfect picture via youtube. I watched 20 mins then the wife came in and talked so missed the rest of that half but saw the whole of the 2nd. Pasquali Aussie midfielder impressed and both full back Bakker and Bakboord overlapped well. Nunnely is very fast on his feet.
Sierhuis is out with a knee injury again ,hope its not too long out.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Watched the last half hour. Ajax had too much speed for Hammarby. With some better finishing this one could have been 6-0. It will be interesting to see this group of players progress. I think the youth system has been quite good over the past four years in terms of nurturing good young players.
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
I should have added about better finishing and it would have been 6.
This group of U19 has fewer local produced talents and we have bought in 6 or 7 from overseas. The best group coming
through are the U16 group ie still 15 year olds. Gravenberch and Brobbey have already played for the U19. Dutch U16 have a couple of friendlies next week and 9 Ajax in the squad and 3 standby.Hopefully we can keep the best of that squad from the money of EPL.Gravenberch an attacking MF and Brobbey a forward both goalscorers so keeping them will be difficult.
Back to our U19 in CL ,next up is Legia Warsaw

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
U19 currently playing Feyenoord and its 2-0 at HT Anyone want to catch the 2nd half youtube- AFC Ajax and you will see video ,training and U19 v Fword .De Toekomst is packed the sun shining and I wish I was there.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Enjoyable morning watching our U19 comfortably beat Feyenoord 4-0. Periera the Brazilian striker got a penalty late in the 1st half and then Ekkelenkamp, local lad and a midfielder, scored just on Ht and then 12 or so mins into the 2nd half to settle the game. Subs used and for the last 30 mins we played 3-4-3.15 year old Brian Brobbey scored a 4th in injury time.
Great atmosphere but the Ajax fanatics were singing crude songs aimed at Feyenoord players.Ajax will get reported but not sure how you stop singing ,our players will face a lot worse tomorrow.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Indeed we had a very sunny afternoon today in the northwest parth of The Netherlands.
Typical Ajax stuff to bring in a 15 years old in the match against the Under 19 from Feyenoord and then he also scores.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Ryan Gravenberch is an even better 15 year old I believe.I fear both could go to EPL.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
PS: to yesterday it was good to see our Youth team wears the old ABN -AMBRO logos. Always liked that logo down the side of the shirt.
Back to Brian Brobbey I should have added after he came on and score for u19 he came on as sub for U17 and scored for them. Scoring 2 goals in one afternoon for 2 seperate teams is rare.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
U19 play Legia Warsaw today in the CL U19, Ko 18.00 CET . Bit surprised to read they flew this morning and trust they will perform a lot better than their last league game. Played De Graafschap last Friday and it was 2-2 ,only the 2nd point this season for De Graafschap and the 1st points dropped by us.
Pereira the Brazilian striker is injured but Sierhuis can play as an over age player.Sidoel defender from Jong Ajax also in the squad.15 year old U17's Brobbey striker, and Gravenberch midfielder are included also defender Van Gelderen and goalie Ruijgrok .

We won 4- 1, Sierhuis 2, Jensen and Sidoel 1 each. 2nd leg to come
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Good to see Serhuis score a couple.
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Just watched the highlights on official site. Sierhuis's 2nd was superb , a volley from just inside the penalty area.Sidoel's goal a fantastic shot from way out the area. Goalie El Maach let in a howler , a back pass straight to him and he attempted to kick it ,missed and it went in the net.He made up for it with a penalty save.
I do follow our U19's and find it odd we have 10 Overseas in a squad of 25 and that does not include the various U17's appearing. Only 3 of the 10 non Dutch are regulars this season , Pereira Brazilian striker, Ylatupa Finnish winger and Pasquali Italian Australian midfielder.
Would hope next season several lads currently aged 15 and 16 will be in the U19 squad . Loads of talents at these ages and all Dutch. Gravenberch and Brobbey both 15 and debuting yesterday in defence V Gelderen aged 16.
Almost as odd is that 3 locals are playing regularly and have no contracts ie. Botman Cd ,Ekkelenkamp MF and Ter Heide in MF. We give contracts to 16 year olds from abroad and from other clubs but seem to be slow at times with our own.

Only seen some clips and highlights so SPL, I think you're the right man to tell me how is Ylätupa doing? strengths and weaknesses? From what you have seen, do you think he has a chance to make it to the first team someday?SPL schreef:

I have only watched a couple of games and just the highlights .We really need one of the Dutch lads who has watched regularly to comment. Ylatupa does seem to be doing very well ,scored some goals made a few.I would imagine he may play 1 or 2 games for Jong Ajax in the later part of the season.
I am sure King Litti you are hoping he makes it ,will be nice for you to see a Finnish Ajax man again.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Our U19 beat Willem 4-2 today but I would say that was not special .Our U17 won 9-2 at Utrecht and our U16 won 11-0 at Roda. Many of the U17's are only 15 and this seems a very good age group ,if we can keep them from England, and hope some can progress.
