Stevie Pienaar is really turning on the style for Everton lately.

He seems to get an assist or a goal every week.

"Which one of Borussia Dortmund or Ajax Amsterdam, would you return to if you had the opportunity, and why?"
- Xolani Nkosi, Rosettenville.

"Ajax, because I love the type of football they play."
- Stephen Pienaar

My dutch is bad, but from what i understand, Sonck said some bad things about Ajax. Negative atmosphere in changing-room, arrogance.. If i remember good, this isn't the first time, when he tells shit like that

Abramovich wants Barcelona's Rijkaard at Chelsea
tribalfootball.com - December 16, 2007

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich still wants Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard as his new manager next season.

The News of the World says Rijkaard is set to reveal his future plans at the end of this month and sources close to the Dutchman reckon he will announce he will quit Barca. He has told close friends that he will have three job offers on the table in the summer.

These are the roles of Dutch national manager, coach of Bayern Munich and Chelsea boss.

Our source revealed: "Frank has spent four years at Barca and he gives the impression that he wants a new challenge.

"Chelsea is one of the options available to him. He will make his plans known at the end of December."

Although current Blues boss Avram Grant signed an improved deal last week, that was seen as a ?thank you' from Abramovich to the Israeli coach for steadying the ship after the shock departure of Jose Mourinho.

The billionaire Chelsea owner would still like a high-profile coach with a proven record - and Rijkaard fits the bill.

I'm not too sure how much you can rely on this as the same words appeared in that well known reliable (not) UK paper News of the World yesterday.

It might take a few more of us @ £35 a go but hey we can't do any worse can we?

Fulham seems to be interested in good old Jari Litmanen, 37.

Would be good to see him playing again, especially just down the road but not sure what he could do for Fulham. Even if his fitness holds and he doesn't get injured it's debatable what 37 year old legs can offer in the PL right now - is he still playing in Sweden?

Is it just Spain where they do that presentation ball flicking thing? I remember seeing the same for Beckham and for Sneijder at Real Madrid.

They're all clapping and cheering as Maduro flicks the ball in the air but why? - surely the football equivalent of cheering a racing driver going round the circuit without crashing at 25 mph?

I know it's really just for the press to get some decent photo's but it really does look silly.

At some point they even ask for an overhead ("chilena"), heh...

Fulham are desperate as they have signed our great legend Jari Litmanen.

He last played for Malmo back in the summer before another long injury.
Wish him well I imagine this could be his last club !!!

Yep, from today's Guardian...

"What has been confirmed, however, is that Liverpool have missed out on the chance to re-sign the only truly creative player to have been on their books for the past two decades; Jari Litmanen, 59, has gone to Fulham."

I see Everton are getting rid of Van Der Meyde. the successor to Bogarde.
2 years on Inter's bench and I think it is 3 years at Everton with very few appearances.Mind you we have a Bogarde of our own Luque.

PS Just to remind anyone that Bogarde was at Chelsea for about 5 years and played about 10 games. It was a great joke in the British sports press.

If clubs are going to be stupid and pay the big wages you cannot blame the players.

Andy van der Meyde is the Nigel de Jong of a previous generation. And Nigel de Jong is the Hedwiges Maduro of the last generation. Who will be the next Hedwiges Maduro? :confused.gif:
