Yep. Just wonder who we will have left at the end of the season. It will pretty much look like a desert, or a disaster area.Van basten schreef:It means -' bye bye Maduro' - this winter. Another 'great' job by Ajax boardphilippe schreef:Maduro wil nog niet verlengen : Maduro want s to leave at the end if this season
BTW, what happened to the huge amount of money we got from the transfers ?
Appie, stay strong !

Ajax's treatment of Maduro is crap. The lad is 22 and with a contract expiring in June 2008 the club have only just sat down with his agent.
That would tell me the club doesnt really want him.
We will sell him in Jan for about 1m euros( same as De Jong a couple of years ago ) Had the club sold him back in the summer I expect we would have got 4/5m euros.
We wont have many Dutch internationals left! Of the current 7 Maduro,
KJH and Heits will go and Stam is retiring with Davids also probably going at seasons end. If Urby leaves that will leave Steks.
Looking at whats left Suarez will be the only player that will attract any big club.
Would agree that Alves wont come to us.

Who else will go.Apart from the 6 Dutch internationals mentioned above.
Well we will have to completely rebuild.
Goalies Steks might stay but Vermeer will come back and replace Gentenaar.Thats the only position that wont be a problem.
Defence Vermaelen VDWeil and Ogararu will be all thats left. Colin to leave
Midfield Gabri and Delorge will possibly stay but would anyone put money on Gabri staying? Vertonghen Schilder Donald De Jong Sarpong and Anita are all left but are they ready yet !!!! Would expect Schilder to possibly move on if he does not get playing time and lads like Anita and Sarpong probably need loaning out.
Forwards Urzaiz will go also Mitea and Manucharyan is never fit.
Leaves us with Kennedy , Rommedahl, Leonardo, Luque and Suarez!!!!
No problem with Suarez but the others do not make me jump for joy.
We still need to get 2 wingers that can cross balls!!!!! Hopefully Goossens might braek through later in the season !!
So thats my thoughts. 2/3 quality defenders needed and 2 experienced midfielders ,3 if Gabri goes, plus 2 wingers and another striker.
At present we have a weakness in all these positions except KJH and his goals.
We need a strong coach to come in and rebuild.

Yeah if all these transfer rumors are true this year, it could be a write-off (I guess if it isn't already). I hope it doesn't end up that way, since it would be nice to win the Eredivisie and get the automatic CL ticket for next year. Although who knows what next year's roster will look like.
I just hope some of the dealings wait until the end of the season to give Ajax a better shot this year, but as noted, it is seemingly more likely that some players will go in January.
I agree that what's happened with Maduro has been crap. Wasn't he a regular a year or two ago? He's still young, and I think with this year's roster, can be a big asset. I can see why he wants to go and don't really blame him. I just wish Ajax had handled pretty much everything differently with him. If they didn't see much of a future for him last year (which it appears they didn't), I agree they should have gotten rid of him last year or last summer because he's certainly not worth as much now.
It's been inevitable for the last year that Huntelaar and Emmanuelson (and maybe Heitinga) would be the next to go after Sneijder/Babel. The way things have gone this year, I don't see any replacements lined up if anyone goes in the winter, and I don't have much belief Ajax would even go for, let alone get a solid replacement over the summer should they go then. I don't think Alves would come even if we could afford him, he seems to want out of Holland for a big club and we're not big enough.
Hopefully this all changes or else next season could be even longer. Things could be interesting if we worked the transfer market right (with all the money from Babel/Sneijder/ten Cate plus probably Huntelaar/Emmanuelson and then whoever else that goes between now and the start of next season), I believe we could add some solid new players. I just hope those in charge realize it's time for some change if things are going to get better.

If Urby wants to leave in january to Roma, then I wont complain, after all Vertonghen isnt doing a bad job there. Schilder can also play in that position. The position I am most concerned about is the NO.9 Huntelaar will almost certainly leave probably to AC Milan/Barcelona. I know Alves wont come to Ajax (He is too arrogant) I would like to see Marcus Berg come to Ajax but we would have to pay a lot of money for his services. As for the defense, well I think we should go for Ooijer and Sankoh, one has experience, the other has solidarity.

I'm not sure it matters much when KJH leaves, because no matter when it is, there is going to be a big hole in the attack. I think he's our best player (although not always the most consistent, and at times I think he should shine with better players around him).
My guess is that Ajax has some replacements in mind, not sure if it's the transfer market or that their hoping it will be done through the Ajax system, but I hope they are able to replace him with someone adequate. Unfortunately I think we'll have a hard time trying to bring someone of his immediate caliber in through a transfer (unless they are in the twilight of their career, eg. Stam/Davids). Most players would rather play elsewhere, it seems. Like you said, I can't see Alves coming, if he's going to transfer it's going to be to a club outside of the Eredivisie.
My guess is we find a somewhat young striker to develop for a few years, which unfortunately may lead to a few rocky seasons. Who knows, you can always hope for another Bergkamp.

Heits will probably go in the summer but with Stam having retired Ajax
need another defender this winter so wont let Heits go.
I read a comment about Maduro which indicates that Ajax have given him until 20 Dec to decide on renewing his contract otherwise he will be able to go posssibly in Jan. I have said this more than once but our treatment of this guy is crap.

I've been watching Maduro the last few games. I'm not sure what to make of him. He plays ok at times, but seems to make some elementary mistakes. Also, his ball distribution in central midfield leaves much to be desired.SPL schreef:Heits will probably go in the summer but with Stam having retired Ajax

Having said that, he claims it's due to lack of confidence from being overlooked by HtC. Perhaps he'll settle down with a regular playing time.

Let the inconsistent Emanuelson and the enigmatic Maduro go during Winterstop. . Keep Huntelaar and Heitinga until year end. Simply put , Huntelaar and Heitinga are more critical and less replaceable than Emanuelson or Maduro .

Emanuelson was awesome last year, he can't have become a bad player over night, let's get serious a second.ZoefdeHaas schreef:Apparently the so called scouts of these respective clubs dont watch him enoughphilippe schreef:if Emanuelson was inconsistent, I don't think clubs like Valencia and AS Roma would want him

I thought he was decent as a midfielder against 010. Perhaps, like Maduro, the coaching of HtC has hindered his development.carcajou schreef:Emanuelson was awesome last year, he can't have become a bad player over night, let's get serious a second.ZoefdeHaas schreef:Apparently the so called scouts of these respective clubs dont watch him enoughphilippe schreef:if Emanuelson was inconsistent, I don't think clubs like Valencia and AS Roma would want him
Or perhaps he's not that good. Who knows?

Sure he was, as VdV was in 2001-3. As much as I like Urby, if he doesnt start improving soon then I wont be too bummed out if he left.carcajou schreef:Emanuelson was awesome last year, he can't have become a bad player over night, let's get serious a second.ZoefdeHaas schreef:Apparently the so called scouts of these respective clubs dont watch him enoughphilippe schreef:if Emanuelson was inconsistent, I don't think clubs like Valencia and AS Roma would want him
