A good player but way to arrogant for Ajax( And that is saying a lot !!!!!!). 1 million is better than nothing and de Jong can enjoy a couple of weekends a year with his lost love Pienaar....I hear the hotels are quite cheap in Germany :D.
PS: I still have to say i will always remember the goal he scored against Arsenal in Highbury. That will be the moment i will remember him buy.....when he still had some humility in his veins.
Good luck Nigel.

Remember when we all thought that moving to HSV was a step down for Van der Vaart? Now they are second in the league, and VdV was voted second best player for the first half of the season. Who knows, maybe the move will also bring about a renaissance in de Jong's career. I do agree though that there's no point holding on to a want-away player.SE6Ajacied schreef:I have to say good ridance!. He was a good player for us on his day but plainly didn't want to stay so why hold on to him. He will not get the glory he so obviously craves at HSV I don't think, nor will his ego be able to take playing for a lower profile team....oh well.

I did think after I wrote this that I should have looked at the Bundesliga table first. Anyway, even if they win the league, they'll never be the glamour team where all the players are media stars however well they play - that's pretty much what I meant.Frans schreef:Remember when we all thought that moving to HSV was a step down for Van der Vaart?
