Young Ajax continue to perform very, very inconsistently...

A few days ago (on Monday) they booked a good win over Young Twente and seemed to be back on track. They climbed to mid-table. Yesterday evening, however, they lost again: 3-1 at Young RKC Waalwijk. Schilder gae Young Ajax the lead, but they conceded three goals in the latter phase of the game.

The line-up: H. Moisander; Timisela, Boakye, Schilder, Kok, Keizer, Vertonghen, Tiberkanine, Sahadewsing, Babel, Martina (46. Boerrigter).

The table...

1. Young Utrecht: 12-28
2. Young AZ: 12-24
3. Young Heerenveen: 12-24
4. Young Feyenoord: 12-23
5. Young Willem II: 13-23
6. Young NEC: 12-18
7. Young Vitesse: 13-18
8. Young RKC Waalwijk: 13-15
9. Young Ajax: 14-15 (sigh...)
10. Young Volendam: 12-14
11. Young Heracles Almelo: 13-14
12. Young PSV: 13-14
13. Young Twente: 13-12
14. Young NAC Breda: 12-6

Next game for Young Ajax is at Helmond Sport (not Young Helmond Sport but their first team) in the Gatorade Cup on Tuesday evening! That game may be discussed in the Lower Ajax Teams in the Gatorade Cup thread.

A WIN

Reserves won 1-0 tonight v PSV and the scorer Babel, playing as a striker.

Team Vonk, Timisela, Boayke, Lindenbergh, Moisander, Yildrim, Keizer( sub Vertoghen ) , Tiberkannine, Martina( sub Kalkhuis), Babel , Sahadewsing.

I assume Schilder and Sarpong must be training with the first team as they were not even subs.
Boerrigter was shown as an unused sub.

At least they have started the year with a win.

Yeah, they played very well according to the reports. Felt like a fresh start. Also: Young Ajax had three first teamers, whereas Young PSV had five (Gerald Sibon, Edwin Zoetebier, Eric Addo, Ismaïl Aissati and Mika Väyrynen).

SPL: you're right, Sarpong and Schilder are currently training with the first squad (Schilder permanently, Sarpong for the time being, I believe). Also, Javier Martina was on the Ajax-1 bench on Sunday, but that was apparently a one-off thing: he returned to play with Young Ajax.

Why the hell isnt Boerrigter training with the first team, he is an orthodox winger, something which we lack, he is 19 and is contract runs out in the summer of 2007, can someone please tell me whats going on, because he was signed after we beat PSV to the race of his signature, simply because he was talented, has the pressure got to him at Ajax or WHAT?!!!

I agree we should sign him up for a first team career. If not, PSV will snatch him up and he will become the next Arjen Robben over there.

simply because those players arent ready for a first team apperance.

Goosens and boerighter, wich are seen as talented players, will simply not solve the problem on the left wing side because they arent fysicly ready yet, as blind already stated.

although the table of young ajax is horrible, ajax does everything to make jong ajax good again. with that new 15 year old guy from peru, and 17 year old vito wormgoor from Dovo ajax is really hitting some talents.

+ when looking at the first team wich counts lots of youth players : vermeer, stekelenburg , boakye, emanuelson, schilder, heitinga, sneijder, lindenbergh(yes hes a former ajax youth player) , de jong , martina, babel
, sarpong i think we dont have to complain with 12 home made products ;)

Young Ajax - Young Vitesse: 5-1

Bericht door Kowalczyk » ma jan 23, 2006 10:30 pm

Nice one. Young Ajax lashed out against Young Vitesse tonight: 5-1. Earlier this season Young Ajax lost 7-1 in Arnhem. This was a good revenge. There is no report on Ajax.nl yet, but according to a very short announcement on Ajax Netwerk first teamers Vonk, Emanuelson, Babel and Boukhari saw action for Young Ajax, while Edgar Mancharyan returned from injury and played his first game in many weeks.

Manucharyan actually scored, too. Young Ajax's other goals were scored by Babel (2), Martina and Yildirim. Good news, this. Good for Babel's confidence, great return for Manu.

Unfortunately, JC is right (JC is always right :D ). The report on Ajax Netwerk has been updated and there is now a match report on Ajax.nl as well. Manucharyan started, scored Young Ajax's second goal (25', after Babel had opened the scoring in the 5th minute), but had to be replaced in the 32nd minute.

Martina made it 3-0 (39') and Babel 4-0 (46'). One minute after half-time Young Ajax were 4-0 up. That's excellent. After Murat Yildirim's 5-0 (50') Young Ajax lost interest and the only man to score in the remaining 40 minutes was former Young Ajacied Fred Benson Erchiah, who now plays for Vitesse.

The game was played on the artificial reserve pitch of De Toekomst, by the way, not on the main ('real') pitch. Line-up:

Vonk; Boakye, Timisela, Schilder, Emanuelson; Tiberkanine, Manucharyan (32. Yildirim), Boukhari; Sahadewsing, Babel, Martina (76. Boerrigter).

Standings in the Beloftencompetitie:

1. AZ: 15-31
2. Feyenoord: 15-30
3. FC Utrecht: 14-29
4. SC Heerenveen: 14-27
5. Willem II: 16-23
6. Vitesse: 16-22
7. RKC Waalwijk: 15-21
8. Ajax: 16-21
9. Heracles Almelo: 16-19
10. NEC: 13-18
11. FC Twente: 14-15
12. FC Volendam: 14-14
13. PSV: 15-14
14. NAC Breda: 15-9

8th, but number 5, 6 and 7 are almost within shooting range now... Ten more games to go!

Young Utrecht - Young Ajax: 4-3

Bericht door Kowalczyk » di feb 07, 2006 4:39 pm

Ajax-1 are having a nightmare this season, but Young Ajax don't exactly shine, either...

Yesterday's league game at Young FC Utrecht was lost in dramatic fashion: 4-3. Coach John van den Brom was disappointed and very angry with the referee after the game. According to the match report on Ajax.nl the game was never violent, but the ref played a crucial part by booking five Ajacieden and red carding two (Rachid Tiberkanine just before, Murat Yildirim just after the half-time break).

Ajax went 1-0 down in the 20th minute, but Nourdin Boukhari equalized one minute later. Tiberkanine was then sent off. According to the report he was punished to severely for a rather harmless collision. With ten men, Young Ajax took a 1-2 lead just before the break: Robbert Schilder fired a free-kick into the top corner.

Immediately after the half-time break Young Ajax were (once again) extremely unfortunate. Murat Yildirim intercepted a cross with his chest, but the referee was convinced he did it with his hand. The fact that the dirty ball left a mark on his chest could not convince the 'man in black', who did not only give Utrecht a penalty, but also showed Yildirim the red card. An amazing decision. Even if it was a hand-ball the red card would have been outrageous... Anyway, Utrecht converted: 2-2 -- and Young Ajax had to continue with nine men.

Utrecht made it 3-2, Ajax's equalizer was disallowed for mysterious reasons and - eventually - the hosts made it 4-2. Robbert Schilder scored another goal in the last minute: 4-3.

Van den Brom: "I can not blame the boys tonight. They did everything they could. Young Ajax battled until the bitter end, but I just can't stand it that we will have to miss out on a few boys in upcoming weeks. A normal referee would have brought this game to an end without cards."

The Young Ajax line-up: H. Moisander; Anita, Boakye, Schilder, N. Moisander; Yildirim, Tiberkanine, Boukhari; Sahadewsing, Babel, Martina (46. Poepon).

B junior Vurnon Anita had to replace Milano Koenders at the very last moment.

By the way: John van den Brom will finish the season as coach of Young Ajax, but he will not return to the Young Ajax bench after the summer. He will focus on his most important job: director of youth system. he will also start the KNVB course for his professional football coaching certificate. Ajax will hire a new coach for Young Ajax and according to rumours good old Aron Winter is the #1 candidate.

The Fickle & Inconsistent Ones have done their thing again...

After a string of absolutely embarrassing performances Young Ajax pulled a great game out of their rear ends at Heerenveen yesterday evening, in spite of the fact that Heerenveen normally belong to the best Dutch clubs in youth and reserves football, and in spite of the fact that Abe Lenstra Stadium was almost full for the game (due to some kind of promotional action, which attracted a lot of folk).

Young Ajax played very well. Ryan Babel and Javier Martina scored, but it should have been more than just 0-2.

Weird, weird, weird.

Line-up: H. Moisander; Koenders, Huisman, Schilder, N. Moisander; Yildirim, Boukhari (46. Poepon), Vertonghen; Sahadewsing, Babel (60. Anita), Boerrigter (75. Martina).

Standings in the Beloftencompetitie:

1. AZ: 18 games, 40 points
2. Utrecht: 18-35
3. %$@@#%#: 16-33
4. Heerenveen: 18-31
5. Willem II: 18-26
6. Vitesse: 18-25
7. Ajax: 19-24
8. Heracles Almelo: 19-23
9. NEC: 16-22
10. RKC Waalwijk: 16-21
11. Twente: 15-18
12. p$v: 17-16
13. Volendam: 17-14

Young Twente - Young Ajax: 2-0

Bericht door Kowalczyk » di mar 07, 2006 7:51 am

After a few weeks of improvement Young Ajax f*cked up again yesterday evening. They lost 2-0 at Twente. According to coach John van den Brom Jeffrey Sarpong and Michael Timisela were the only two to play a good game. These two got playing time in the first team in recent weeks, but don't think they're too good for Young Ajax, apparently.

Line-up: H. Moisander; Timisela, Boakye, Schilder, N. Moisander; Tiberkanine (70. Huisman), Sarpong, Vertonghen; Sahadewsing (70. Koenders), Babel, Martina (46. Plat).

Results and standings on NOS Teletekst:

By the way: Tuesday's home game against Young Volendam @ De Toekomst has been called off, due to the fact that Ajax-1 play Inter Milan that evening. Let's hope the Young Ajax game will be re-scheduled to the week of the Ajax USA trip! Would be a nice one.

No fixture set for 10 th April yet so you may be lucky.( Fixtures are on the official site. The Jong site is Dutch but it is easy to see all the fixtures, results and who has played.)

Question for Ko.
Looking at the league table how many teams go down ?? We have only 6 games to go and played more than any teams below us.

The club will have to make decisions soon on the futures of about 5 of last nights team. Contracts expiring in June will be both Moisanders, Boayke,Tiberkannine and Sahadewsing. They are all in their second years with the reserves and are all coming up for 21 so I will be surprised if any are retained.

Boakye might get a contract - but that's it, I think. I can't believe the club will keep the Moisanders and Sahadewsing. They're never gonna make it in the first team. As for Rachid Tiberkanine: pretty good player sometimes, but I can't see him making the jump to the first team either.

In spite of the piss-poor results the current Young Ajax generation is not really a 'lost generation'. Let's not forget that Emanuelson, Babel and Maduro belong to the same crop. Their early emergence is one of the reasons why Young Ajax lack quality. I'm sure we'll see more of Timisela. The arrival of Derk Boerrigter is only a matter of time. Boakye? Possibly. Also, I really like Jan Vertonghen. Hopefully we'll see more of him in the near future.

As for Sarpong: he's officially still an A-junior and therefore belongs to the generation that comes after the current Young Ajax group. Sarpong has pretty much skipped Young Ajax: he went from the A1 to the first team. His generation is generally expected to be much better over-all than the current Young Ajax crop. Vurnon Anita, Rydell Poepon and Johnny Goossens have the qualities to make it to the first team. Possibly a few more.

Young Heracles - Young Ajax: 0-3

Bericht door Kowalczyk » ma mar 27, 2006 7:35 pm

Young Ajax won their away game at Young Heracles by the score of 0-3 today. That's good news in itself, but what makes it even nicer is that the absolute star of the evening was our good mate Nicolae Mitea. He reportedly had a fantastic game and scored twice. The third Young Ajax goal was netted by Jan Vertonghen.

Looking at last nights lineup I notice 6 of the team have contracts running out at end of season and I believe Ajax have to make a decision by the end of this week on all of them!! Ko's posting above of 7 March sugested most of these 6 wouldn't make it so it does seem strange Ajax are still playing them in the reserves.

Players are Boayke, Moisander twins, Sahadewsing, Tiberkannine Van Moppes who incidently was playing his first full game for the reserves since his bad knee injury back in Dec 2004.

Would have thought the club would now be playing alot more of the A1 team in the reserves!! Yildrim and Vertoghen were the only A1 players and they have full contracts .

Young F-Word - Young Ajax: 1-3

Bericht door Kowalczyk » di apr 04, 2006 2:13 pm

Some good news in very bad times...

Young Ajax booked a very convincing win in yesterday's 'Little Classic' at De Kuip: Young Feyenoord were beaten by the score of 1-3. According to the report on Ajax.nl the team didn't even play that well, but they battled hard and were very much up for it. A header by Emmanuel Boakye (14') gave Ajax the lead. A beautiful strike into the top corner by Sahadewsing (68') seemed decisive, but Buijs brought Feyenoord back into the game (74'). Only four minutes later, however, Ajax did wrap it up: Mitea's thru-pass was hammered home via the underside of the cross-bar by Ryan Babel (78').

Line-up: Vermeer; Timisela (Koenders), Kok, Boakye, Schilder; Muller van Moppes (Keizer), Sarpong, Vertonghen; Sahadewsing, Babel, Mitea.

It was Kenneth Vermeer's return to action after a very long time of recovery. Robin Muller van Moppes has been out for a year, returned to action in January and then had a relapse. This was his second game (his comeback was last week) and he did well. Finally, Nicolae Mitea is looking very good. He seems match-fit and is quickly picking up form.

The current season has been a bad one for Young Ajax, and they've been fighting against relegation throughout the year, but after this win they are almost certainly safe. Next game (in the middle of Ajax USA's Rendezvous in Amsterdam!): Young Ajax vs Young Volendam at De Toekomst, Monday 10 April, kick-off 18:30 CET.

Newspaper Het Parool and AT5 Text report that six Young Ajax players with expiring contracts will not be offered extensions. They will leave at season's end. These six players are...

Robin Muller van Moppes
Rachid Tiberkanine
Henrik Moisander
Niklas Moisander
Jerginhio Sahadewsing
Anne van der Kolk

Not a nice day for these boys. But that's how it goes. You can't keep them all. You have to choose. And the fact that some of them might end up at other Eredivisie clubs, and even do well for them, doesn't change that.
