A rubbish performance 2-1 loss at home to the bottom team Mido scored our goal . Subs used in the second half Suk for V Rhijn, Zeegelaar for Ozbiliz and finally Bonevacia for Tainio for about the last 30 mins.

Bonevacia is rated the best of the talents in the Jong but has not yet agreed to a new contract . Not getting a starting position today cannot make him very happy . Hope we do not lose him .

Lukoki and V Rhijn are both training with first team this week . Good to see

Gerry Vink is the new Jong coach replacing V d Dussen ,who was Jol's man . Roy the assistant is likley to be replaced by Wim Jonk. With Bergkamp likely to take over the A1 youth the back room changes continue.

Nice one! So there's still a chance of getting my shirt signed then - even though it's gone a bit wrong down one arm where the Eredivisie patch fell off.

The Jong squad have been in Cyprus the last week and at the weekend beat AEL Limassol 3-2 , no details and nothing on the OS . The only certainty is that some of the spare first teamers will have been there as last weekend youth talent , Bouy,Klaassen , Lukoki, Ligeon were all playing a friendly for the A1 youth v A2 youth . Even Boilesen would have been due to play for the A1 as he was shown as missing from that game with illness.

Nothing on any contract extensions to Bonevacia, Jozefzoon,Ebecilio, Sneijder etc and no news as yet on giving Lukoki a contract. All very quite with Jong news but with nearly everyone of them having contracts finishing in June and Almere City wanting some of the players on loan this month , as part of the working agreement between the sides, I quess things are happening behind the scenes.

Back in league action tonight but SPL is bound to moan about the team ie , Silva, Atouba Tainio Sno
are never going to see 1st team action and even Oleguer is not likely to make more than a sub so these could all play along with Verhoeven.! I wont moan about Bodul or Donald as both are still young.The fact that both should have been loaned out for the season is another matter.

Ps plenty of candidates for right back ie Silva, Oleguer,Toivomaki,V Rhijn Ligeon. Left back where we are light there is only Burnet and Koppers who has played left back regularly for the A1 this season but now promoted to the Jong .

I would add Boilesen and Mitchell Dijks as a potential LB, but agree we are light in this spot. my worry is that at CB we are even lightier! maybe Van Rhijn?

Boilesen is more a centre back has only played a couple of games as left back this season and in fact has not played many games about 4 with the Jong and 5 at A1 level.Dijks is a left back with the A1 but only been a sub. Sporkslede is also a left back but has been injured alot this season.These last 2
are both contracted but in their first year with the A1.

Ligeon and Koppers have been the regular full backs for the A1 this season and both finish at youth level this season . Both should now be getting games at Jong level .

I agree on everything, I was just considering that options. Maybe playing Anita LB wasn't the worst decision of Jol these years.
Still wondering what we'll do when ooijer and oleguer contracts finally expire in the summer. we need at least one decent backup to toby and jan (if stays)

Good to see Jozefzoon back and Castillion starting. Bad to Sno anywhere near the pitch, similarly Bodul and Suk who don't seem to have much future either..

Pleased that Zeegelaar has got an extension and a chance to play first team footy . I would not be surprised to see 1or 2 others go on loan over the next week

Tim v d Meulen is on trial at Dundee Utd in the Scottish Premiership. The lad is in his 2nd season as a Jong player but does not get much playing time .He has been told he will be released at the end of the season and I expected to see him go to Almere on loan this week . If he can get a contract in the SPL good luck .

Final score tonight was a 1-0 win for the Jong , well nearly Jong as Verhoeven and Ooijer probably needed a game to make sure they are match fit for the first team.Not sure where V Rhijn was , do hope a 36 year did not keep him out .

He's joined until the end of the season with an option of further contract. It is being reported here that Ajax tried to extend his contract but he wanted games. Ajax would need to offer a contract to him to be due money. The deal includes a sell on clause but even if it is 50% I wouldn't imagine Ajax will get too much down the line.

That's what he claimed. Rules to get compensation for an under 23 year old player mean they have to be offered a new contract. Perhaps just a token gesture to assure that. But he has an option of further years and a potential sell-on clause so Ajax must have some right to compensation or why United agree to a sell-on clause? anyway that's what has been reported direct from the horses mouth.
