Young Ajax in the Jupiler League

2nd place for us and even if we lose on Friday at Helmond we will be 3rd. Great to see Sierhuis and Kluivert come straight out the youths and look the part.

In the last 2 or 3 games we have had no v d Beek,Nouri,Cerny or de Ligt. Wouldn't like to think what Donny and Appie would have done to PSV last night . If those 2 had played along with de Jong we would still have to find a place for Eiting ,he looks the part . Have to say when you look at these kids and see Serero I realise why he is not good enough . deJong and Eiting last night in a different class.Well I think deJong was in a different class to everyone.

I would not expect to see us finish the season in the top 3 as the aim of this side is to develop players for the 1st team.

I just love to watch all these kids playing such beautiful and attractive football.PSV looked like a team of Robots compared to us.

Looked like Jong Ajax had the better of the play. I'm not convinced about Walian. He had a couple chances and couldn't keep his feet straight, maybe Sierhuis comes in for the 2nd half.

Yes Walian needs to be replaced, he's not good enough for Ajax.

Goal was headed in very well, Frenkie de Jong again great but I don't think it was a free kick (that situation where the goal came from.)

At Jong PSV they have high expectations from striker Sam Lammers, but he didn't do much besides missing a big opportunity late in the second half.

He has been the starting striker on some of the youth NT teams but I agree he wasn't particularly effective yesterday. Of course he was not helped out as his team had little possession and other than the one chance he never got the ball in danger situations. I suspect Sierhuis is a better prospect despite being younger.

enjoying it as usual 60 mins gone and we are 3-1 up. Kluivert with a nice left foot shot, Zeefuik with a shot from the edge of the area and Dankerlui put through ran into box and shot into the net.Kluivert is a quality player

We won 4-2 .Mazraoui on 87 with the 4th.Keizer with Heitinga and Ogararu has the ability to put a bunch of inexperienced kids ,8 teenagers, 2 x 20 and an elderly 22 year old goalie, away to the 5th placed team and win and entertain .Some of the passing was wayward but still the quick moving and getting the ball up the field.

To start with their goal was a farce . A header went to our goalie's feet who kicked the ball to clear but in one movement it hit Sanniez and rebounded into the net.

Kluivert ran through and put away a nice left footed shot for no 1. After Ht Zeefuik with a rocket shot for 2-1 .Dankerlui ran onto a pass took it into the area and put away no 3. They broke through the middle and shot for 3-2.Then on 87 a short corner by Kluivert and Mazraoui hammered in for 4-2.

Not quite the perfect passing when Nouri Donny and Frenkie are at their best but a good hard working performance with Kluivert looking a real class act . Eiting at DM played well and Bergsma at Cd looks promising .He and Savastano need playing time at this level. Mazraoui and Dankerlui both utility players were the attacking MF and both did well and rewarded with a goal each.

After the woeful football last night and last Sunday thank goodness for Jong Ajax. 2nd in the league.

Thanks for the summary. I was out for a luncheon with a friend today and had to miss the match. I'm interested in Keizer's development as a trainer. Judging from his Wikipedia page, he has been managing since 2007 and most recently was at Cambuur prior to coming to young Ajax. I've been impressed how he has prepared the team to play in all the matches I've seen to date. He is constantly facing a new set of players each week and has integrated both A1 and senior team players quite smoothly. I suspect he has higher ambitions. It will be interesting to see where and at one point he moves on. I wonder what the senior Ajax management make of what he has done versus Bosz.

My only other pro soccer team ie Jong Ajax play Telstar in a friendly tomorrow with the league back next weekend.

Sierhuis is now properly in the squad and also promoted are MF Dani de Wit and defender Danilho Doekhi,who played at this level last season for Sparta .They are all contracted.

Jong lost 3-1 to Telstar Bergsma our goal. A1 youths Nunnely,Doekhi,de Wit,Lang all played.I read that Lang,who played the 2nd half was our best player.This kid is still without a contract!!!

Season starts again tonight away to Emmen,game listed on cricfree. No report of bad snow so game on.

deJong, de Ligt and Eiting will all play.Leyder ,Belgium defender, who has been out injured for the best part of 2 years is fit and in the squad.

Forward positions look very weak. As I have just posted on new players Clement out for 2 months Dekker injured and El Idrissi was joining Jong Utrecht but nothing confirmed. We are left with Sierhuis and Walian ,both inexperienced at this level and maybe Nunnely the other A1 winger who debuted for Jong v Telstar in a friendly this week.Kluivert is with the 1st team.

As I posted earlier our forward line up is weak in numbers .

Finished 0-0 Had snowed so pitch looked slippery for our players in the 1st half.Seemed to clear in the 2nd as we kept our feet, had the most possession but most chances were long shots. Walian with a header against the post in the 1st half the nearest.Their goalie made the most saves. We did get caught 3 or 4 times when pushing forward but goalie and slippery pitch saved us. They had a shot headed off the line later on .

Although we played the better football imo, a draw was fair as either side could have nicked it.

Nunnely for Sierhuis on 70 the only sub.He then played right wing and Walian striker. All 12 players are Dutch with only de Jong not from our own youth. 10 of whom are teenagers ,Dankerlui 20 ,Leeuwenburgh 22 so this is a very young side and inexperienced. Not only de Ligt but Nunnely is also 17 .

Again cricfree a perfect clear stream and good to watch our kids again.

With no game until next Monaday our Jong play Athleico Madrid U23 this afternoon in Madrid. This has been arranged by
Johnny Heitinga and he has other games v Everton and Hertha ie his other old clubs ,to play later on .Great idea.

That seemed quite a rough challenge. Nouri gave two fine assists at both our 1-0 and 2-0. Probably the Atletico opponents didn't like to have him on the pitch anymore.

Yeah so why would this be in any way sad?
Maybe sad for Krul the 'Hagenaar' and Thulani the South-African, but in not any way sad for the club.

Krul and Serero should not be playing for Jong Ajax and need to go and get regular games at a higher level.

Krul was nothing special in that half .We are 1-0 down. Serero doing ok.

A 2-1 win for us in the end .We are 2nd in the table and given the side we put out it does not say much for the standard of this league.

2 nice goals ,de Jong 56 and then Mazraoui 76 were enough .

Krul had one good save near the end but he does not impress me . He cannot just stay here and play the odd Jong game.

de Ligt and de Jong are the only 2 who look good enough to make it .de Jong played midfield ,Bay and Mazraoui on the wings.

At HT Sanniez came on for Zeefuik and we played a back 3 with Bergsma out right, de Ligt centre and Sanniez out left.Savastano pushed forward. On 77 Reda Boultam 18 year old A1 midfielder replaced Savastano and for the final 5 mins another youth midfielder Azor Matusiwa came on for Mazraoui.

A hard fought win and Monday its Almere but we should have a stronger team.
