I watched about 2/3 of the match. I missed seeing the Feyenoord goal. Ajax had a fair number of chances to score but couldn't put the ball in. In general they outplayed Feyenoord keeping ball in the offensive half for most of what I saw. Ball movement was very good.

Story today that 3 of our A1 youths dragged a plain clothes poliewomen from her car and injured her.I believe there is a hearing this afternoon to decide if the 3 were involved and what charges will be made. They are Zakaria El Azzouzi ,striker who recently signed to 2020.Ashraf El Mahdioui DM contracted to 2016 and striker Samet Bulut.

Our dutch mates on their site have 3 pages on the youth A1 page if anyone wants to read them or like me google translate. I will wait to see what happens this afternoon and hope its not our 3 lads.

Meanwhile some great youth news today as Cerny, Nouri, Savastano are joining v d Beek in the Jong Ajax sqaud tonight v VVV ,will comment later on the Jong page

The police have decided El Azzouzi is still a suspect and will have to attend court. The other 2 were released and are not suspects.

The earler story was an off duty policewoman was dragged out of her car and had a broken collarbone.The story now is she got out the car,was not injured and did not say she was a policewoman. Clearly not as serious as the Dutch papers had earlier made up.

Ajax are not sacking any of the 3 youths ,mentioned above. Basically El Azzouzi,who has to go to court in May is suspended until the end of the season and fined. EL Mahdioui and Bulut are suspended from playing for 1 month.

Imagine El Azzouzi will get a fine from the court and hopefully that will be it.

All the three guys have been punished by Ajax, El Azzouzi will not play an A1 match for the rest of this season, we will see him back after the summer break.

And yes, El Azzouzi will also have to face court.

Yesterday night a 1-0 loss against AZ Alkmaar A1 in the away match in Alkmaar. Ajax A1 still on top of the table with a 2 points lead.

The ABN-AMRO Future cup starts today . Games are on ajax tv and Fox so should be streams .

We play 2 games today and have already beaten Schalke 4-0 .(I tried the stream on livetv but it was not showing the game but following the game on Ajaxshowtime evidently fox coveage failed)

Next game is 14.30 CET today.If no streams I may use Cruijff's password for Ajax tv,sure he wont mind.

Only game tomorrow is same time as first v Utrecht. Monday, semi is likely to be 10.00 CET with final about15.00.

From the youth experts I believe there are 5 real talents in action,none contracted. They come from 3 age groups.

From those born 1998 ,Eiting a DM player is already in our A1 youth team and at 17 should get a contract.This age group is short of talents as 3 of them went abroad last summer.

Those from 1999. Malen a striker ,scored 2 v Schalke,is with Raiola and I will be surprised if he does not leave for England this summer.

Nunnely ,a winger. (both these are 16 already.)

de Ligt,not 16 to August, a CD who already debuted for the A1 youth.

Finally one player from 2000, aged just 15 a left side midfielder Famila Castillio who already interests Man U.

Joe v d Sar ,son of Edwin,is a goalie but injury ruled out Justin Kluivert,son of Patrick,and also a forward.

Been out this afternoon watching my local team, but the U17's lost to Porto 1-0 a soft foul to give them apen. Tomorrow morning we play Galatasary and have to win to get to the semis.

Following the comments on Ajax showtime ,lots of moans about our policy of not contracting our own 16 year olds.

Raiola has had an interview published today and he said Ajax have not contacted him about giving Malen a contract and he, Raiola ,is surprised as the kid is a top talent. He also said Ouasim Bouy should have stayed at Ajax but still thinks Kishna should leave as he does not get on with FDB

Sorry I cannot help saying this but 4 years ago before Cruyff took over with his revolution we were contracting 16 years olds and they were not going abroad. Nunnely Malen Eiting would all be contracted and de Ligt contract in August when he is 16 .In addition Mensah,Dilrosun and Peeters would all have been playing today ,having been given contracts last summer aged 16.

I wonder how many of todays 16 year olds are headed for England this summer.Eiting is now 17 and if we cannot give him a contract now , 15 months since his 16th birthday, no one can blame him if he leaves.

Ajax has always been associated with youth and I love to follow ours but the policy of no contracts to 17 is utter crap and Cruyff is wrong.If the players mentioned above ie Nunnely de Ligt and Malen all leave and Familia Castillo ,only 15 has already been on Man U 's radar, also leaves then what is the purpose of our youth academy!!

PS.Even though our first team have some poor players and are playing worse than when Jol left and I am expecting our best youths to piss off to Manchester I still love this beautiful special club .Think the season needs to end and I need some sunshine.

I'm with you on this! The last 2.5 seasons have been a drag with diminishing amounts of exciting bits thrown in. Saw an interview on Ajax Showtime where FdB's explanation was that the kids weren't playing to their level. Wonder what would happen if the kids gave interviews saying "our tactics for this game weren't right" or "the boss made some funny subs"?

I have been saying this over and over, but somehow it doesn't seem to get through -- the purpose of our youth academy -- according to stated policy (I provided a reference to the interview article for this in a post I made a couple of years back, but I can no longer find it) -- is to train players so that they can be sold for as much money as possible. So it comes as no surprise when this is exactly what happens.

Agree our academy is to produce players to sell I was just sounding off.We just cannot let 16 year olds go for nothing.

Maybe one of the Dutch posters who looks in on our thread can answer the question about how much a typical youth contract is. My understanding is that they are contracted until they turn 18 at which point they can be offered a senior contract. I'm sure that they are not paying a 16 year old €1M and if it is a reasonable amount of money it shouldn't have a marked impact on the club's bottom line. Certainly in some cases the move overseas of youth is facilitated by agents and family (who want to cash in on their son).

Until they are 18 we can only pay a max 30,000 euros pa, which is not alot. Mensah joined Manu for 200,000 signing on fee and 200,000 euros pa aged 16! We cannot compete with such amounts.

Evidently Wim Jonk is having disagreements with Overmars and co on extra funding for the youths and also that the first team play a different style to the youths (Cruyff will probabaly intervene as he is not happy with the way the first team play football)

We still give foreign players contracts at 16 but have stopped giving our own 16 year olds contracts since 2012.

The players who were given contracts in 2014 aged 17 and born in 1997 were v d Beek,Nouri,Walian,Dekker.

The players given contracts from this summer and born in 1997 are Savastano,El Idrissi,V Bladeren.

No players born in 1998 ie 17 this year have yet been contracted,Eiting and maybe Sidoel will be the only ones

Our A1 youths won 3-0 v Heerenveen yesterday and lead their league by 4 points with 3 games to go.

Have to mention the A2,ie U19 2nd team. They are still 2nd in their league but lost to leaders Groningen yesterday by 7-0 ! Main reason for posting they travelled with only 1 sub ,and that was Bulut ,who was just coming back from being banned for a month . In the 2nd half one of the defenders went off injured and with Bulut already used we finished with 10 men. We had no sub goalie and it sounds like a park club.

Our A1 team are on course for the title with a 3-0 win over ADO.4 points ahead of AZ with 2 to play .Next week they play PSV in Eindhoven so it would be nice to win the title there.

Having played for Jong as subs last night Mirani, Nouri, v,d Beek all played 90 mins today. Muric played again for A1 having been with Jong Ajax for most of the season.
