Young Ajax in the Jupiler League

We play Telstar tomorrow and Sierhuis is in the squad .He needs to be tested at this level as scoring in the youth team has become too easy for him.

Another Jong striker El Iddrissi is on trial at Utrecht and is likely to join them on loan in January .He has not got much playing time this season.

We won 2-1 ,sadly no stream . El Ghazi on 41 and de Jong 45 gave us a 2-0 lead at HT .They got one back on 50 but we held on . Savastano for Sanniez on 65,Mazraoui for Clement on 70 and Sierhuis ,his debut,for Walian on 77 the subs used.A good win .


Dekker ,the winger, has had a knee op and is out for at least 3 months,which is bad news

Away to Dordrecht tonight 20.00 CET ,cricfree shows a stream so should be able to catch the game.Nouri deLIgt v d Beek and Cerny will likely play and El Ghazi too.

We are 5th in the league and doing well results wise and more importantly in developing players for the first team squad.

We are 1-0 up at Ht.A lovely shot by Nouri to score with the last action of the half. Quick movement and passing by Ajax getting the ball up field but not enough chances until the little prince scored. de Jong looks very good with Eiting playing the DM role.Only weak link is Dankerlui ,poor defender.

I missed the goal! I had to go up and do my back exercises and stopped watching at 42 minutes. This team is such a pleasure to watch. Quick passing and they all seem to solve problems on offense. Lots of good pressing as well.

I'll let SPL give the full recap of the match. I only want to highlight the possession at about minute 78 when Ajax had the ball just outside the box. I think there must have been 30 passes most of which were quick 5m ones before the shot was taken. This is in marked contrast to the senior team that plays with 2 1/2 MFs and cannot string together more than 3-4. Dordrecht were in the Eredivisie a couple of years ago but are now near bottom of the table in the Jupiter league.

A comfortable 2-0 win by us Clement scored the 2nd on 76 having earlier had a goal disallowed.

Ajax dominated possession with quick passing and moving the ball around Nouri and de Jong superb in MF.Krul had little to do all night but he had Riedewald and de Ligt in front of him .These 2 would be starting for most teams in the eredivisie.

ElGhazi ,having been told he would not start was given the option to be sub and he did himself some favours by coming and he replaced Cerny on 60 mins . Mazraoui for Eiting on 78 the other sub.

Even at 1-0 I never expected any slip ups with those 2 quality CD's and a dominating midfield.Watching these young kids is the most enjoyable football I have seen for a long time.Having started reading Johan Cruijff's book today I am sure he would love these kids .He said football has to be enjoyed by the fans well I really enjoy these kids.

What struck me most was el Ghazi's lack of quickness compared to the rest of the Jong team. The minute balls were lost others quickly went after the Dordrecht player to try to get a turnover while el Ghazi was slow to react. Now this may simply be a difference in the playing style between the first team and Jong Ajax or it maybe that el Ghazi is just not quick enough to play this style of football. I think it's a combination of the two and I suspect el Ghazi is better as a striker in a two man front line.

I only saw the last 20 minutes. Jong Ajax were down 1-0 but came back with three goals after the 80th minute. de Jong headed in a goal off a corner kick after Kluivert forced a Cambuur defender to kick the ball across the goal line. 2nd goal was very nice, Sierhuis got the ball about 35M from the goal and saw Clement cutting in and delivered a pass right on the money and the finish was clinical. Kluivert was fouled inside the box in extra time. His PK was right at the keeper who saved it but right back to the young winger who buried it for the 1-3 final. Jong Ajax are now even on points in 2nd place.

We won 3-1 all goals in the 2nd half. They went 1-0 up ,I thought de Ligt should have stopped the guy . Then on 81 mins a nice header by deJong .A minute later Clement got a nice pass and ran into the area for 2nd .In injury time Justin Kluivert was bought down .He took the penalty ,goalie saved it but it came back to him and he scored his 1st goal in pro football.

Savastano for Dankerlui on 63, Mazraoui for Bergsma on 74 and Sierhuis for Walian on 66 subs used.

Hard work for a while but we ended up with a comfortable win.

Indeed a good header by Frenkie de Jong who was completely unmarked at that corner. Nice trick by Kluivert before he was brought down for the penalty. He seemed to have several nice dribbels during the match.

Last weeks game against Telstar was not broadcasted on tv, I went to watch that one on De Toekomst. Kluivert was not involved in so many attacks that evening, but El Ghazi screwed up quite a lot situations, otherwise Kluivert and Sierhuis would both have had at least one assist.

The goal made by Pelle Clement (1-2) was also a very strong one.

Home to Jong PSV tonight .As we had some playing for the first last night and with Cerny injured also Dekker it will be a similar team to Cambuur and a lot weaker than previous games.

Looked like Jong Ajax had the better of the play. I'm not convinced about Walian. He had a couple chances and couldn't keep his feet straight, maybe Sierhuis comes in for the 2nd half. Clement is a decent player but needs to be more aggressive shooting; he broke in free on goal and probably had a decent shot attempt but passed instead. Our Newcastle loanee did not have much to do in goal and I agree with SPL he should return in January but I wonder if Ajax are on the hook for the full year salary.

Sierhuis has indeed come on at Ht for Walian Quick passing and movement even without 4 regulars on 1st team duty.Frenkie deJong my pick of the 1st half

well, Sierhuis come on at the half and bang, he nails a header off of a great free kick into the box from de Jong. 1-0 at 60 minutes.

We won 1-0 in the end but PSV never threatened or even really tested Krul. Quality passing, quick movement by us. A superb header by Sierhuis from de Jong free kick for the goal.

Frenkie de Jong is way too good for this league.Everyone apart from Walian had decent games with Eiting atDM looking quality .Serero enjoying himself and Kluivert nearly scoring before Mazraoui came on for him after 72 mins .Only 2subs used.

Next friday Helmond Sports ,who are in good form, but we will still be 2nd after tonight.

I watched most of the game as well and there sure is a lot of quality. Jong PSV were in 2nd place not long ago and Jong Ajax sure handled them. Probably should have had a couple of more goals. I think Sierhuis is the real deal and he should be starting for Jong Ajax the rest of the way. He is very strong for his age and holds up the ball very well. He really has a nose for the goal as well. You are right about Frenkie de Jong. I won't be surprised if he isn't on the match day roster for the cup tie against Cambuur next week.
