except a fee for his education as a footballplayer.

Ow, didn't know that. I thought that he will leave us because of Bosman rule (for free). But he is young, so it's probably just like you've said.
Thanks, Henk :xyxthumbs: .

So, where is Trabelsi going to play next season? Any news?

no news.

Apparently, Trabelsi has rejected PSG because of (yet again) his huge wage demands. He is waiting for other clubs now, with Manchester City now reported to be stepping up their interest.

According to french newspaper But!, Ajax has proposed Charisteas to PSG for 2 millions euros...

I know that he didn't play much, but it's too cheap for me... Charisteas is a good striker and it sounds impossible for me that Ajax could agree on such money. Even if we have a lot of forwards...

Yeah. We bought him for 4.5 million. We will lose a bit on him, but we shouldn't settle for less than 3.

not easy..

I feel bad for Charisteas. He's been a better striker than many fans want to admit, has always had a great attitude, and seems like a good guy. Too bad he was bought by the previous administration and is now surplus to requirements.

I wish him well and hope he latches onto a good team and has a good career.

me too.
but in my opinion there's a little chance that he stays. I will be happy, the guy has attitude and some skills that make him different from our other strikers..who knows..

I also would like too see him stay, we currently lack a tall big striker, Charisteas fills that need and can come off the bench once in a while and score a couple of goal's , i havent checked but i think if you compare the minutes/goals ratio you can see that he is not so bad.

I won't be politically correct because he's leaving, I think he's not good enough for Ajax. We have to aim higher than that kind of players if we want to hit it big. Good bye Angelos and good luck.

I would like to see him kept on unless we receive 3 to 3.5 million euros for him. It seems we have a recent history of Greek super-subs(Machlas,Anastasiou) who can come off the bench, or start when injuries hit, and be productive. Why buck the trend unless it's for a good fee?

It seems ridiculous to sell him for a song; whether Rigobert Song or any other song.

That's what I thought in 2004-2005. But last season...? He did the business whenever he got the chance. He really convinced me of his qualities.

In spite of that, I think I'll agree with you: we have KJH, Rosenberg, Charisteas and Babel now. That's four strikers, including three that were bought for millions. That's too much. If anyone comes up with a reasonable bid for Chari, then I'd say: do it. 3 million or more.

According to Corriere della Sera Juventus will offer at least 4 mln euro for our defender Zdenek Grygera. His contract extends in 2007 so it may be the one of the last chances to sell him for a good price. But on the other hand, our defense seems to be the worst line (just like right wing) and Grygera is definietely one of the best backs in Ajax. It will be suicide to sell him before buying any solid, experienced defender, if you ask me... I hope that Grygera will stay, he could be a good replace for Trabelsi on a right back, when Tunisian will change the club.

My thoughts: George Ogararu ; like him , loath him ,or reserving judgment ; is our right back . I think Grygera , not to mention Trabelsi, is history. Heitinga will battle for a place in the center and provide cover at RB.Vermelen can play both CB positions. Lindenbergh can play CB or LB.Ogararu - Heitinga-Stam- Emanuelson. I'm not totally sold , but there you go.

I too would like a tough-minded central midfielder; but I've been saying that since before electricity. Maybe the coaches think Maduro can step up ,including improved defensive play .

It looks like 2 players from Jong Ajax will go. Milano Koenders and Jasper Kok are ready to sign the contracts with RKC Waalwijk...

It's probably too early to say yet. I'm sure there will be more transfer activity after the WC is over.

Yeah we always discuss that about a month before season starts, right before the Amsterdam tornament when they make their oficial presentation.

I dont think a lot off people are going to agree with you on that one, after a first year slump he has been pretty damn solid. I would even go as far to say he has been our best defender.
