Re: Albert Luque Martos
For now he's back at the Amsterdam ArenA and training with Ajax...
He will probably talk to Martin Jol about his future. Loan deal has expired. From what I've read Malaga would like to keep him (and he would like to stay there), but Ajax and Malaga can't come to an agreement. Difficult situation. We'll see what happens.
He has a contract 'til the summer of 2010.

Re: Albert Luque Martos
To repeat myself no one will pay any money for this guy and I would assume that we probably paid his June salary as his transfer to Malaga did not go through. Of course Jol may want to play him !!!
Re: Albert Luque Martos
Might as well trot him out . Maybe he'll impress someone enough to take him off our hands.

Re: Albert Luque Martos
Luque has returned to Amsterdam to go back in training with Ajax.
The club gave him a week off, in which he could fly back to Spain, overthink his situation and check his options. Today, Luque came back.
Will he really play for us this season...? Not ideal, as it wouldn't be what he wants.

Re: Albert Luque Martos
The thing is with Luque, hes not a bad player when hes not either moaning or injured, which sadly for Ajax is rare especially as hes on a maaahhhussive wage. But if he wanted to stay, took a slight pay cut, or even just played well and got some goals it wouldnt be so bad.

Re: Albert Luque Martos
Bravo! The way people talk about him is obscene. He had a fairly good season in Spain and was not that terrible when he played for Ajax. I'd give him a chance, and if he doesn't play well then we can draw a line underneath his career. But give the guy a break.

I suppose he could be Dario's backup.ozzerdibazio schreef:Bravo! The way people talk about him is obscene. He had a fairly good season in Spain and was not that terrible when he played for Ajax. Re: Albert Luque Martos
I have a feeling he's here to stay for the season...
If Jol decides so, I agree. I trust the man.
I don't see a serious role for Ogararu (at right back Van der Wiel is #1, Silva #2), so he may better leave.
Rommedahl: can be useful as a sub. If he can live with being a bench warmer, he can stay for all I care.

Re: Albert Luque Martos
I really think Luque may be the one player that was written off too quickly by Van Basten. I wish we could have had him back after the Huntelaar sale, things may have ended differently last season.
He's certainly not the player he was at one time, but I think his experience is something that can be invaluable to the squad. I hope he can keep it up and at least perform at the same level he did last season in Spain, and that he sticks around this season.
I agree with Ko about the others leaving. However I think I'd prefer Kennedy over Rommedahl. Either one is going to be a backup, but judging by last season, Kennedy seemed to have more fight and determination, which I think was lacking on the whole for the squad. I don't think it makes sense to keep both around in the end.

It would be nice if we got some goals out of this guy considering all the money he has cost us to date

Re: Albert Luque Martos
If we are going to a 4-4-2 as has been rumored, then Luque might be a good fit after all. If he scores goals, then, well, that's all that can be expected of him.SPL schreef:It would be nice if we got some goals out of this guy considering all the money he has cost us to date

Re: Albert Luque Martos
This could be the week we get rid of him as headlines suggest Malaga are ready to do some sort of deal.
Re: Albert Luque Martos
Actually the news is that Ajax and Luque part ways today. A small fee was paid by Malaga or Luque to end his contract. Other details are not know.

Re: Albert Luque Martos

quite bitter, if I think that I entusiastically opened this thread two years ago!

Re: Albert Luque Martos
probably the worst signing ever by the club . He hardly played for Newcastle we paid them 7m euros plus 40000 euros a week and got nothing in return. We could have cancelled his contract back in June so why we have waited to now I do not no. (Still thats 1 down and next Ogararu Kennedy Sno Silva Martina plus 3/4 mf to go on loan. )
