Hehe, nice one...
The club had a little surprise in store for Leonardo this morning. When he walked in the door this morning there was a big birthday cake, a bag with 6,000 printed e-mails from supporters and, last but not least, a Brazilian samba percussion band waiting for him.

That's a nice touch. A bit grand but the sort of thing "normal" employers/colleagues do for people. Can't see Man Utd or any big English teams doing that sort of thing....Kowalczyk schreef:Hehe, nice one...

According to http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=t ... &type=lgns, Leonardo has returned to full training this week, which is good news.
According to goal.com Leonardo and Davids had a so called scuffle after
training.
On another story Dutch sites show we are to get 22% of any sale from VdVaart. This is my translation so I hope one of my Dutch friends will clarify this . With talk of a £15m transfer £3m or 5m euros will be good business.

Appie, stay strong !
Yeah, Leo and Davids were arguing in a training serssion. Davids verbally 'corrected' Leo, who didn't agree and that's how it started. Just verbally, nothing serious happened.SPL schreef:According to goal.com Leonardo and Davids had a so called scuffle after

That story about Van der Vaart was published in the magazine 'Voetbal International', and is - as far as I know - not confirmed by Ajax in any way. (but they rarely do with the financial details of a contract) It's not a bad deal though, IF it is true.

I really think, that he deserves more playing time, than he gets nowLEONARDO TO STAY AT AJAX
Ajax striker Leonardo is content to stay and fight for his place in coach Adrie Koster's starting line-up, according to the player's agent.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months after falling down the pecking order at the Amsterdam ArenA.
The 24-year-old joined Ajax from NAC Breda in January 2007 but picked up a knee injury just two months later that sidelined him until December, since when he has struggled to reclaim a place in the first team.
But Leonardo's agent Hans Coret insists the forward is in no hurry to leave the Amsterdammers, despite reported interest from NEC Nijmegen, FC Twente and FC Utrecht.
"I read all kind of strange reports in the media," Coret told www.voetbalvandaag.nl.
"I really would like to know who brings these reports to the media, because Leonardo is with his head and heart at Ajax.
"We will look at the developments in the coming months - only then we will look further if needed."

De Telegraaf reports that Danny Blind will have talks with NEC today. He is quoted saying: "NEC were interested in Leo at a very early stage, and their interest is now very concrete. The only thing is that Leonardo still has a contract for one year, so we want a fee. It's all about the transfer fee now."
I expect an agreement some time soon.

He turned down NEC could not agree wages , he wanted too much.
So what now !! He has 10 months left of his contract and I doubt he will
even get on the bench. MVB should just put him in the reserves. He will then probably go in January. There is not going to be room on the bench for him Kennedy and Rommedahl.

Correction: looks like he'll go after all.Kowalczyk schreef:Hmmm... Looks like it ain't gonna happen (Leonardo transfer, I mean)...
According to Voetbal International he's reached an agreement with Al Sadd in Qatar. Ajax and Al Sadd reportedly agree on the transfer fee, too, but Ajax are waiting for a bank guarantee.
Sounds like this one can be wrapped up today or tomorrow.
