Wow, maybe the club is really serious now! If both come and we don't lose any players the pressure will really be on ten Hag to produce this season. Since F de Jong is not healed from his ankle injury I cannot see him leaving right now. Everything is silent about Onana and there will be a fair number of other keepers on the market after the WC so he may not leave. I think de Ligt stays another year. Of course I have often been wrong!!!

English press are reporting the Tadic transfer as a done deal.

Its official. We have signed Tadic for 11.4 m €! I think that's great business done by Overmars.

Its going to suck that we may not have him in time for the qualifiers.

By this weekend all our 4 remaining WC players could be out and on a 2 or 3 week holiday and thus play in the qualifiers.

Great signing. Usually we are able to sign young talents that have just potential for the future or older guys who's motivation might be questionable. Tadic has proven himself at a high level and he still has a few good years. Looked good in the world cup too.

I wonder how we got him? I mean considering premier league tv money, he has to take a pay cut. And considering his career, well as far as leagues go, this is a step down.

Could it be that he came to Ajax to win something? I like that thought. He moved to Twente only after their surprising triumph and he was never going to win anything in Southampton.

I saw the last two Serbia WC matches and Tadic really looked good. He had firm control of the ball and didn't seem bothered by defenders. Serbia had bad luck against Switzerland not getting a penalty called when their striker was manhandled. They were decent against Brazil but ultimately didn't have the goal scoring ability. I really cannot see Denmark beating Croatia who might just win the tournament as only Spain (who have been rubbish) are the only challenger in their side of the bracket assuming Belgium take care of England tomorrow.

We end up paying 17.1 m but its 11.4m up front ,2.3m in bonuses and the 3.4m due to Tadic is being paid as part of his wages as a supplement.

Twente were due a % of any profit but Saints paid 13m and the max for this transfer is 13.7m(the 3.4 m to Tadic doesn't count) so Twente wont get very much if at all.

In current football the left back is involved very much in the game.
Eiting as DM and Blind somewhere on the pitch to support him.

During the season Blind could be used on multiple positions in the team. Also we will not stay injury free all year long.

At the end the Tadic transfer turned out to be 4 million euros lower than all Dutch newspapers wrote.

why not take Toby now too?? .. seems like Spurs don't want him!

Toby is only 29 ,Jan 31.Either can come back but Jan is more likely,his partner comes from Amsterdam .

Meanwhile Daley is signed for 16m euros plus 4.5m add ons ,contract to 2022.Coming back to us at 28 when he could have signed for more money abroad shows his love for Ajax.

Davy Klaassen ,now 25,will be back with us by the age of 30.Like Daley he is trying 4 or 5 years abroad but will return
to the club he loves for a few final years.
