I guess scouting is pretty unscientific. I'm also pleased we signed these guys, but there doesn't seem to be a reliable way to tell at the age of 18/19 if a player is going to crack it or not. In Ajax's "market segment" all we can do is take punts on young players, since there is no way to attract players who are at their peak.
