Yes we have hit the jackpot 75m rising to 86m . If someone like Spurs or Arsenal offered 30m I would have said that was good. He is a fine prospect but dont think he is that special. de Ligt Tadic and Ziyech are our 3 best players imo

I agree with this but there are not very many clubs that can afford to spend €100M without running afoul of the Fair Play regulations. I know Juventus are interested and if they sell Dybala they would have that kind of money. PSG was priced out of the de Jong market by the Barca bid. Only Man U and Man City would have the funds to bring him to England at this point.

Man City do want de Ligt according to today's news.

I do rate Frenkie highly but in the last few years only 2 Ajax kids have really wowed me as special.de Ligt from that August day in 2016 still aged 16 debuting for Jong Ajax made me think wow this kid is something else.

The other one well you know who I am going to say.I really did think Appie was special.

Anyway glad Frenkie is joining a proper club and not PSG. I even hope Matthijs joins United and not Petrol City

Sad to see Frenkie leave. However, we will receive 75 million, he stays for another 5 months and is not going to the OPEC clubs.

This is a crazy amount - I don't think he's a finished product quite yet. I hope he doesn't languish on the bench over there. .

IMO, he's not ready for the very top -- have long stated that he needs two more years at Ajax before he is. What's going to happen to him at Barca? After paying that much money for him, the expectation is that he will step in and be a high impact player -- which he won't be -- he is not a Rakitic or Busquets at this point -- he will need development time to become so -- so what will the fan reaction be over there if he doesn't immediately pan out? Will seeing him ride the bench after all that money, cause them to turn on him? Potential career wrecker, there. I could be wrong and he will turn out to be the star performer everyone expects him to be from the get-go -- I hope so for his sake. We shall see.

I feel the same way but the money becomes to big to turn down. the problem right now is that there are no sub-top 10 Euro teams that players can move to these days. Those clubs don't even have €20M to purchase a player such as de Jong and develop him for an additional 2-3 years. There was a long article on Dortmund that I read the other day describing how they have changed their approach. they spend a lot of money identifying youth players who can develop within their system rather than purchasing established players. The good young players realize that they will have a very good chance of starting for a Bundesliga club that contests for both the league and Euro competitions. Ajax are doing something similar but sprinkling in a couple of established players along the way.

the top Euro teams just keep buying lots of players and see which ones float to the top to become stars. the rest are discarded.

Heerenveen want Cerny on loan .If he can get regular games there then it wont be bad for him and maybe for us.

Next week I still hope one or 2 more Jong get loaned out . Cassierra has to go as he wont even get a game for Jong .

Cerny turned down Heerenveen and stays.

Jong Ajax Finnish winger Ylatupa has left and joined AIK Sweden.He got very few chances with Jong and although contract to 2020 best for him to leave and get playing time elsewhere.

With Cassierra off to Argentina ,we are starting to clear out Jong squad.Still 2 or 3 more need to go before thursday night. Johnsen another winger needs to go out on loan .

Another one bites the dust Mitchell Bakker,Jong Ajax,left back is joining PSG .Contract up in June ,when he is 19. Seems like a Dijks type of fullback .Raiola is his agent and I have read no where about a contract renewal .

Will bound to be anti Raiola rants but the lad has been in Jong since last year, has sat on the first team bench a few times played 2 cup games but when he sees Sinkgraven playing LB he must have decided time to move .

It says Ajax rate him but its January no contract talks and he does not get in our 1st team when we have no LB.Don't blame him leaving.

Bakker has had contract talks evidently and sounds like Raiola has indeed talked him into leaving. If he doesn't think he is getting chances at Ajax what does he expect at PSG. This kid seems to just be leaving for money.I am sure he was fed up seeing Sinkgraven attempting to play LB but he is only 18 not 21.

Apart from de Ligt Gravenberch is with Raiola and I dont see him staying more than another year. Maybe we should tell talents you dont get a contract with Raiola as agent.

Bakker has signed a 4 year contract with PSG starting in July so stays to the end of the season.

He may still get playing time at Jong as the only other left footed LB is Kemper and he is currently injured and probably will go at the end of the season. At U19 Salah-Eddine and coming up 17 has just been promoted to left back from our U17 and is highly rated for the future.No one from the youth ready for Jong.

Bakker had offers to go on loan to other Eredivisie sides. Clearly he is not rated good enough as cover for our 1st team at present so cannot really blame him taking PSG money.Not playing the cup v Heerenveen probably settled it for him to leave.

Exactly what I was thinking of. Looks like we are actually worrying Madrid these days. This is many steps higher than our De Boer teams.

Should be players not leaving . We basically use 13 players ie Sundays starting 11 plus KJH and Schone.

KJH ,Schone,Blind and Mazraoui no rumours but apart from Frenkie the other 8 all have had rumours of interest.

Marcelo already has lost his starting position to Sergio Regulion who is only 22 years old and a decent player. I don't think Tagliafico ends up there.

Zakaria El Azzouzi who was released in January has found a new club having signed for Emmen until the end of the season with the option of a contract for next season. Had a few loans but never made it so far ,good luck to him .

Nearly two-and-a-half years after joining the youth academy of Dutch giant Ajax, Olyroos midfielder Sebastian Pasquali is heading home as the latest acquisition of A-League newcomers Western United on a multi-year deal.

Pasquali has not got much playing time in Jong and I did read a couple of weeks ago he was leaving and probably returning to OZ.(News item today he has not yet signed up with the Sydney side)
I predict quite a few Jong players will be going this summer, a lot of very ordinary players in the squad.
