Ajax.nl reports that Aissati is returning to the first squad with immediate effect.

Here's the report (Dutch version).

It's a logical step now that several midfielders (Eriksen, Lodeiro, normally Siem de Jong, too) are required in the forward line...

Interesting. Let's see what happens next.

Not much I think, since we've already got Eriksen, Siem, Janssen, Lodeiro and Serero for his position(s).

Janssen is too slow and Serero has not impressed when he has been on the pitch.

I for one think this is too long coming, he looked decent under van Basten and has a little pace and energy which Janssen doesn't. Please prove me right Issy!!

This is long overdue, while at first glance it seemed we had a surplus in the midfield section, results on the pitch have proved otherwise. I think Aissati should even be given he chance to start, but since Frank is determined to play Janssen forever I doubt this will ever happen. A midfield of Anita, Aissati and Eriksen would be fun to watch, though Anita is still required for left back duty.

Ajax must certainly do something to revive their fortunes. Glad to see FdB wasn't closed to the idea of bringing Aissati back into the side. Credit to the young man for keeping his head down and working at Jong Ajax . Hope he is able to put matches together and show what he can do.

Done deal: Aissati to Vitesse.

He was loaned out to Vitesse in the 2010-2011 season. Now he joins them permanently on a free transfer. He will be re-united with the man who was also his coach at FC Twente: Fred Rutten.

It's not on Ajax.nl just yet, but NOS Teletekst run it as news (normally a reliable source).

Thank you, Izzy. Good luck in Arnhem.

Isn't it this season that Vitesse is supposed to be the "new champion" ? With Rutten that might be fun. :smallgrin.gif:

The deal is not confirmed by Vitesse.nl either, by the way.

It's kind of a shame. I thought he did some good things last year. I wish him well.

Well looks like Aissati stayed at home while Vitesse flew to Sofia for their Europa League match. Something about how they cannot agree on his salary....

Yeah I was hoping he'd stay at Ajax, but he could not agree on his salary with Ajax either. I like Vitesse, and have been to Arnhem - it's a nice city. And although they have a very wealthy owner, he seems to be fiscally responsible....
I hope the best for Aissati and Vitesse this season, except when they play Ajax, of course.

Right then. Aissati is a Former Player from now on. This thread is now closed.
