How reliable is this rumor? I think if Ajax did sign him, they would have to hire Carlos Vadlerrama, simply to balance out all the bald guys on the team.

Just to wrap this one up, Graver signed a 4-year deal today with Celtic making him the best-paid player in the SPL.

I've never seen Ryan Donk play, but if, BIG IF, this guy is the real deal, Ajax should really go after him. Stam is on a 2 year deal. According to VI Henk ten Cate wants to talk with Ajax's board about buying a new midfielder. VI says that the it will probably be Said Boutahar.

Yeah, that's right. HTC wants an extra midfielder in the winter break. A 'pitbull'/'tackler' type midfielder, to be precise.

I don't know much about Boutahar. From what I've seen he's a good player, but is he Ajax material? I seriously wouldn't know.

Mensah would be a good choice at the back, i do think he could make it in Ajax, now on the midfield deal i think we should go for Barreto, i'm sure he would make it in Amsterdam, plus he's got some ofensive up-side. Boutahar i believe is more ofensive minded and if we are looking for a Pitbull then Barreto would be the better choice.

Boutahar is a technical, offensive midfielder who -according to Ten Cate- has made the wrong choices in clubs but can be a great player.
On a different note Ten Cate also pointed out that he's looking for a 'Gabri-style' midfielder, but certainly did not mean Boutahar then.

Nope. Ten Cate thinks Boutahar or a Boutahar-type could become his Deco-like player. If Ajax had just signed Steven Defour....

Just take Anderson of Porto for example, some random talent they picked from Brazil but turns out to be a great player. Ajax can do the same.

Random talent? The kid was the FIFA under-17 World Cup-MVP.

Steef, where did it go wrong with the Defour-deal? Was it because he changed a manager and then came up with ridiculous demands or something?
