i'll add my two cents here....Zlatan was a ¨better¨ player....but Shota and KJH were ¨better¨ goalscorers. Take a look at the stats...they dont lie. I have to say that the age of the battering ram type central striker is ending, just take a look at barcelona...they often play in a 4-3-3 and they never use a strong center forward, their system is more about pace and skill than brute force.

Ajax target Jeroen “Oooh PIZZA!” Verhoeven

Reports in Holland this morning claim Amsterdam giants Ajax are interested in signing FC Volendam goalkeeper Jeroen Verhoeven. Martin Jol is said to be eying up the 29-year-old keeper, who played 34 times for Volendam last season before the club were eventually relegated to the Dutch second division.

It should be noted that if he does move to Ajax, Verhoeven will likely be back-up to Maarten Stekelenburg and Kenneth Vermeer as the third choice keeper at the club.

So why should you care about this potential transfer?

This story is of interest though because of the well-documented abuse which Jeroen Verhoeven received on his last visit to the Ajax ArenA back in February 2009.

I hope Onyewu gets some playing time in Milan, or it's bad news all around. We should have signed him last year, I didn't think we had much of a chance this summer, especially with his Confederations Cup performance. We just can't compete with clubs like AC Milan for most signings these days.

Not sure about Atouba, at least it's a signing in a position we need. I just hope he's not another bust like most of our defensive purchases recently.

And for signing 'Pizza', I guess that just goes along with the norm. Overpaying another Dutch club for a player we don't need that badly, and one that previously left Amsterdam.
