Well, the away shirt must have been out this week, as I bought one from 'Soccer Scene' in Oxford Street yesterday when I was passing (as I tend to rather too often!). I've not worn it yet, perhaps I should keep it unworn as a rarity.Peter schreef:This is a great opportunity for the fans who love to have a 'special' jersey, while next year is your last chance to buy one with only 2 stars. From 2008/2009 we can proudly present an Ajax jersey with 3 stars.
Anyway, surely we should have 4 stars for European Cup wins???

Yeah, that's nice. Not too different from this years, wide red stripe and covers the shoulders but the collar is sort of traditional looking, like the old le coq sportif from the early 80's (here)ally7th schreef:what does everyone think of the new home shirt?

(and no, that's not an advert - if it was mine I wouldn't be selling it....)

Hey DanK!
I'm finally in Melbourne! Anything to do here?? I'm suffering from my city withdrawal... .
Anyways about the new home shirt, I LOVE it!!
Unlike most, I like football shirts with collars. Having boycotted the last 4 changes of home kits which I thought looked cheap, I most definitely will be buying one of these... .I would have preferred the XXX to be down the back in a silhouette. Yes I realise with the players numbers there, it may be blocked but having it down the front makes it look like some kind of advert to the uninitiated.
Well it looks like a Champions League winning top so c'mon Ajax!!

LOL. Welcome Ofey.ofey schreef:Hey DanK!

Pity you arrive in mid winter, but it hardly ever rains here anymore so it shouldn't be an issue.
Where do you want me to start.
Melbourne is rated in Australia as the Capital of:
Sport (Aus Open, F1 etc)
Cafes (Melbourne has the best coffee culture in Australia)
Fashion
Night clubs
Restaurants
Just don't mention the public transport (here Melb and Sydney are both shit).
I think what you will find with Melbourne, is that unlike a place such as Sydney, its a city because of the people. There is no Harbour Bridge for people to go "wow". But what it has is character. Its tiny tucked away streets full of cafes for example. (Here it reminds me of Amsterdam slightly).
Send me a PM if you want and I can give you some advise.
If you get to know Melbourne its a truly great place.

Aha, thanks Cedric. So now I'll have a sequence of home shirts, 17 (Anastasiou), 19 (Rosenburg), and now 18 Gabri (who I'd already decided would be this years shirt star). I just hope he doesn't end up jinxed by being on my shirtCedric_AeF schreef:They're already out :

Saw this on Ajax Netwerk, and it's on the official site as well:
AEGON new head sponsor AFC Ajax
Ajax Netwerk says AEGON will have a horizontal logo placement on the shirt and it looks like a forum member there did a few mock-ups which are below:

AEGON new head sponsor AFC Ajax
AEGON new head sponsor AFC Ajax
Amsterdam, 17 okt 2007
AEGON will be the new head sponsor of AFC Ajax from 1 July 2008. The sponsorship deal between Ajax and AEGON has been laid down for a period of 7 years, in which an annual sponsorship amount of maximally 12 million euro will be paid.
This amount consists of a fixed component of 10 million euro and a variable part of 2 million euro. Furtherrmore, as an affirmation of the launch as head sponsor, another 1.5 million is added, divided over the first three years. The total sponsorship amount can add up to 85.5 million euro, minus VAT. AEGON will have a prominent place on the official match kits of all Ajax teams from next season.
AEGON is a company of Dutch origins with a global appeal that operates on the international pensions and life insurance market in amongst others Europe, America and Asia. Ajax and AEGON recognize each other in the same progressive and ambitious vision for the future. For instance, both parties meet each other on the way toward the intended collaboration with parties in China and South-East Asia. Ajax are counting on a fruitful and sportive collaboration.
,,We are very pleased with the head sponsorship of AEGON. Our visions on the future and our values match, and the long-term commitment that we have entered into, contributes to the new phase that we as Ajax envision. With a long-term sponsorship in speedskating, AEGON has shown to be a stable partner who can help to realize big achievements in sports and commercial business. The joint international possibilities als play a big role. With these facts in mind we envision a successful and innovative partnership'', says managing director Maarten Fontein.
After 19 years of successful collaboration, by mutual agreement, the head sponsorship of ABN AMRO changes to a sponsor partnership for a period of three years. ,,ABN AMRO has proven to be a very strong and loyal partner for years. A little over a year ago, we started talks about the future and ambitions of Ajax with ABN AMRO. This has lead to the bank saying it did not want to slow us down in our ambitions and for that we also thank ABN AMRO'', managing director Maarten Fontein says.
