We have signed a 16 year old Dane from Odense. Christian Eriksen a midfielder on a contract from 1 Jan 2009 to 30 June 2011.

Born in feb 1992 would make him a B1 player but I would imagine he will play with the A1/A2.

Good to see that our A1 team are top of their league and bottom is PSV A1.

Lets hope that some good players can come out of this years crop and go on to our first team squad.

It will be interesting to see Catillion progress. He may make us quickly forget Huntelaar.

Last season we signed 11 of our U17's ie B1 youths on contract.I see the Dutch U17 are playing 3 Internationals next month in Spain and a squad of 22 contains 6 Ajax kids , more than any other team.

For the record they are goalie Warner Hahn , Defenders Dico Koppers, Joel Veltman,Rueben Ligeon, midfielder Joeri de Kamps and striker
Cerilio Cijntje. Hope they are as good as some of last years U17's and go on to get contracts.

This week our scout Hans Van der Zee joined Chelsea, he came to us in 2007 from psv.My 1st thought will he try and get any of our kids to Chelsea. Well 1 day later I read Chelsea are after one of our U16's
Fabian Sporkslede. He is a central defender ,not 16 until August and is officially in our B2 u 16 team but has played at the next level ie BI u17's.

Nothing may come of this but we have about 8 Dutch U16's in our B2 squad
and both Chelsea and Arsenal have in the last year signed 15 year olds from dutch teams.

It is about time UEFA put a stop to clubs poaching kids under 18 from other countries.

How is this different from feudal-style indentured servitude?

It's not, except perhaps in the amount of money being paid to the individual.

I full agree. To me this falls into the category of child abuse. Kids are promised the world (or at least think they are). How many of the 15 year old Dutch kids have been successful? I think they get chewed up and spit out if they are not successful and it's not nearly the same thing as being nurtured through the youth program at Ajax.

I wish UEFA would weigh in on this one!!!

And it's even worse for Africans, many of whom are brought over here by shady agents and equally shady clubs. In some ways, it's like a modern-day slave trade.

The A1 beat Willem II (4-0) and are now top of the league. AZ have the same number of points, but Ajax have a game in hand. Mind you: Heerenveen and Feyenoord can still leapfrog us if they win the matches they still have in hand.

Geoffrey Castillion scored three goals.

Line-up: Marco Bizot; Mitch Apau, Johan Kappelhof, Tayfun Candan, Lorenzo Burnet; Florian Jozefzoon, Tom Overtoom, Rodney Sneijder; Roly Bonevacia (66. Daan Brinkman), Geoffrey Castillion (65. Jarchino Antonia) , Lorenzo Ebecilio (78. Jeffrey Dekker).

Top half of the league table:

1. Ajax: 21-42
2. AZ: 22-42
3. Heerenveen: 19-39
4. Feyenoord: 19-37
5. Twente/Heracles: 22-33
6. Den Haag: 22-29
7. Sparta: 21-26

The A1 have not been so successful since the winter break so good to see them win on Saturday and Castillion back to form. They were missing Van der Meulen with injury and other regulars Shakison and Zeegelaar both suspended.

The A1 team won again on Saturday beating Sparta 3-0 Ozbiliz, Sneijder and Overtoom scored.
Lineup Bizot,
Apau,Kappelhof, Van Rhijn(46 Candan) Shakison,
Bonevacia, Overtoom, Sneijder,
Ozbiliz(64Jozefzoon), Castillion, Ebecilo(72 Antonia)

Zeegelaar suspended and Van der Meulen still injured

Ajax 22 played 45 points
AZ 23 45
Fword 20 40
Heerenveen 20 39

With a total of 26 games in the league we can still be overtaken if Fword win their games in hand.
The A1 team play tomorrow v Utrecht as they are in a tourny in Italy this weekend.

I see our A2 team ( U19 reserve team ) lost and are level with Volendam A1 both with 2games to play.
The B2 team are way behind in their league but B1 (U17 team) can still win their league. They lost on
Sunday and are 1 point behind the leaders Fword but have 3 to play and Fword 4.

Our A1 team drew 1-1 with Utrecht A1 tonight.

We are top with 46 points from 23
AZ 45 from 23

Fword 40 from 20

Heerenveen 39 from 20

We are going to have to win our last 3 games and hope the Fword drop points.

Shakison scored tonight and the starting X1 showed 1 change from that I posted for Saturday Jozefzoon started in place of Ozbiliz( regulars Zeegelaar still suspended and Van der Meulen injured other wise our strongest team played)

Our A1 and B2(U16) teams have been playing tournements in Italy this weekend and both reached finals.

The A1 lost 1-0 to man U , who scored in the 92 min. I doubt all Ajax's other 4 games were 90 mins as 5 games of 90 mins in 4 days would be a lot . I would imagine Manu had plenty of non english in their team, naturally Ajax team in the final were all Dutch.

Our B2 team won their final 4-2 over Empoli. They played 4games but a great effort.

Excellent! Feyenoord A1 f**ked up the match they still had in hand (they lost to lowly FC Utrecht A1), which means that Ajax A1 are now really tops!

League table:
1. Ajax: 23-46
2. AZ: 23-45
3. Feyenoord: 23-44
4. Heerenveen: 23-40
5. Twente/Heracles: 23-33
6. ADO Den Haag: 23-30
7. PSV: 23-30
8. Sparta Rotterdam: 23-29
9. Groningen: 23-29
10. Willem II: 23-27
11. Utrecht: 22-24
12. NEC: 23-23
13. Vitesse/AGOVV: 23-20
14: De Graafschap: 22-18

Three more matches to go: at home against Den Haag (18 Apr) and De Graafschap (25 Apr) and away at Groningen (02 May).

Mind you: winning the title is not the most important thing for Ajax youth teams. Player development is more important. But it surely is nice. Young Ajax and Ajax A1 can win their leagues, which really is something to be proud of.

Ajax A1 are still in the cup, too. They play Heerenveen (away) in the semi-finals (date t.b.a.) so they can go for the double!

As well as the 2 reserves being released the article states we are offering Marco Bizot the A1 goalie a contract but another 18 year old A2 striker Attila Yildirim is not being offered a contract and is likely to join Utrecht. There are still 3 youngsters who play in the A1 team , who are about finish with the youth team but no contract decisions have been made , Apau Candan and Shakison

Ajax A1 won their home match against De Graafschap A1 (already relegated) by the score of 4-0 today. Feyenoord A1 also won: 1-2 at Willem II A1 in Tilburg. Which means that both Feyenoord and Ajax now have 50 points after 25 matches. #3 are AZ (48 out of 25).

Next weekend is the very last matchday of the season. Ajax travel to FC Groningen (9th on the table), whereas Feyenoord travel to Twente/Heracles (5th on the table). Feyenoord have a better goal differential, but here's the good news (I did not know this): if two teams finish with the same number of points the championship will be decided in a single head-to-head decision match.

Come on, A1!

I had just looked at the results and worked out that Fword had a better goal difference so a win next week will make us champs. We had a strong team out today with Padt and Claasen of our reserves playing and only 1 out of 14 used not contracted.

Of our other youth teams the B1 (u17) cannot win they lost to Fword today and Fword are champs with Ajax B1 2nd.The B2 team(U16) are likely to finish 2nd with Sparta B1 ( their U17) winning the league. The A2 team , U19 2nd team, are joint top with Volendam with 1 to play. So overall all the 4 oldest teams are likely to finish 1st or 2nd.

Ajax showtime , which is far better for youth news than the official site, gave a rundown of the current A1 and A2 teams the other day listing all those who will leave and showing who will be in the A2 and who in the A1 next season. It did say that Bizot, Bonevacia and Castillion will be in the Jong Ajax team next season but Sneijder, Jozefzoon Van Rhijn and Ebecilio( all contracted this season and regularly A1 players) will stay in the A1 next season.Surprise regards Sneijder.

The only A1 players to go are Antonia , a winger and the reserve goalie Burger. With Candan now being contracted the only 2 remaining A1 to be confirmed are Apau and Shakison.I would imagine they will get contracts.

The official site just reports who signs a contract and nothing else whereas Showtime ends up saying where most of the kids released join for next season.
