Players Leaving Ajax

Selection is finally slimmer after this recent loans..this is the 25-man squad called for portugal camp. the big news is that two big promising youngsters are in: castillion and eriksen. there aren't blind (on his way to groningen), enoh (Africa Cup) and atouba (knee): which means that in total we have a team of 27 players, but some of them (lindgren, ogararu, wielaert maybe also oleguer, if to be replaced, and zeegelaar on loan) hopefully will find another club, so the number could decrease even more.
all this to say that the club is finally doing a good job in making clear who is part of the project and who not. remains to be cleared if we'll try to strengthen this squad or not.

Ogararu is not likely to return to Romania this month as 2 clubs there could not match his current wages . His contract runs to June so with Silva gone I can see him staying until the end of the season.

Talk today that Lindgren wont leave . Enoh not back until Feb ,Gabri is fit but for how long!! De Zeeuw only one booking from a suspension. As a spare holding midfielder I would rather have Lindgren than Gabri. Gabri has barely been fit for the last year and although he was a good signing I do not see him with any future here.

Basel of Switzerland fancy Rommendahl . I doubt we will let him go on loan but with his contract only to June I do not see us giving him another so if Basel offer him say 2 years he may go.
It would leave our forward line with little cover .

Lindgren certainly wont be leaving this week and might even stay the season but we do have too many mf and imo de Jong and Donald should go out on loan to get regular games.Both are just getting time as subs but a loan and regular 90 mins of football will improve them ,hopefully.With Eriksen now in the squad I see these 2 just being on the fringes for the rest of the season.

It really is time Ajax started loaning out more young players to other eredivisie teams to develop them for the good of Ajax . This season Blind and Sarpong were allowed to waste half a season in our reserves when they should have been out on loan. I do not want to see de Jong or Donald waste the second half of the season.When you have a hugh squad like Ajax surely letting the likes of the above named go on loan makes sense.

Someone at Ajax should realise that loaning out players is not just about letting Haarlem have all the reserves who are not going to make it .( Sergio Padt is not included in that but the others either already there or on the list to go are not going to make it).

PS My other big moan will start again tomorrow night when the Jong team are in action especially if Ogararu and Wielaert are playing.

English Premier League teams can loan players out to the next division down and they still get high quality football. We are in a bind in that the second division is not the same level and it's arguable that the players won't get much better against that kind of competition. I guess we will have to see how this all works out.

I believe Blind said no to Haarlem and Sarpong said no to Volendam.Did they say no to eredivise clubs??I take your point but we are paying nearly all their wages when on loan and several clubs are in money difficulties. I mentioned the above 2,who have now gone to decent teams and last summer some eredivisie teams wanted de Jong. Donald is different as he was injured all last season.

It seems they didn't even had the chance to say no at the time. That's one of my point.

And De Jong was one of the only 2 offensive midfielders last summer (with the mighty Aissati), so I think it makes sense that he stayed (I'm not sure he wanted to move anyway). And now, the third one is a 17 year-old rookie.
Beside that, I think Jol said the De Jong can also be used as a back-up striker, so for this one, I think you can definitely forget a loan.

Didn't expect de Jong to be loaned out last summer as you say only Aissati was an offensive MF.
I was just throwing in Siem and Donald as at present I' m not sure how much first team action they will get especially as we are looking at a young attacking midfielder from Uruguay. They are playing for the
reserves tonight.

One of the main reasons for my mentioning these loaning out of youngsters is because we have far too many contracted players.

We have put several players on long and hugh contracts and we cannot get rid of them so I just think we should be looking to loan out players like de Jong and Donald etc.

At present we have 74 contracted pros. The dutch speaking site has been listing them this weekend
( I added 3 names on my first and probably last posting on the dutch site. Wanted to add that Vermeer has a contract to 2013 , Anita 2012 but you will be pleased to know I will stick to english.)

At present we have 26 first teamers (including Eriksen and Zeegelaar)
16 official Jong ( only 2 are playing for the Jong tonight)
18 youths of which 6 are 16 year olds in our B1 team
14 out on loan
So not counting the youths ,who are nearly all on small wage contracts, we have 56 senior pros and that is about 20 too many.

I took a look at the list of players on the Dutch page. Some will be gone this June but not enough. I guess the old administration was fond of giving players long term contracts which is causing a big problem (why would we ever give Verhoeven a contract through to 2012???). As we finish third this year (unless either Twente or PSV collapse) we will continue to be pressed for funds. i suspect that some players will be sold to maximize value and that Jol will move some of the younger players in (we should get good money for Suarez and I expect Urby to be gone as well, perhaps also Steks). We will have to wait and see what happens.

so will we let any go on loan.This week Donald said he did not want to go on loan and de Jong started

A couple of days ago Sparta wanted Ogararu or Will as their right back was injured. Well they have signed Koenders of Az as a replacement so thats the end of that.

Apart from ADO wanting Wielaert there are no stories of immenent departures. I am sure on monday
there will be one or two last minute loans and maybe we will get rid of some reserves to Omniworld but it does seem nothing is happening at present.

Mitchell Donald on loan to Willem II, according to some reports.
This leaves us with a group of 28 players (but including kids that apparently have made it like eriksen and suk, or that are about to, like castillion and zeegelaar: so you can also count simply 24, which is a good thing)
A group in which in the next few days I would like to not count anymore Ogararu and Wielaert, please.
And, if I am not asking too much: switch oleguer for boulahrouz, mister jol.

I have mentioned Donald in the loans post but would agree I hope we can see Ogararu and Wielaert go and Boulahrouz coming in but cannot see Oleguer go out until the summer.

I posted a couple of days ago about interest in Ogararu , mainly from Romania now he said no to Sparta . If he just wants to stay and take the money fine I will just let him stay with the Jong Ajax squad and would not play him in any of their games.This guy does seem to have had a couple of chances to leave and he would still have been paid in full by us . Wielaert appears to have just the offer from ADO and again he could get playing time and would still get the full amount of his contract .

I know they have done no wrong but if they have said no to loans with other clubs , and Sparta and ADO are not far away and still in our division,then they should just train with the Jong and not play even at that level unless we have aload of defensive injuries .

I know I may be in a minority of one on this but if they stay Wielaert and Ogararu should not be played for Jong Ajax.There are 6 Jong Ajax defenders who are now all fit and if just one becomes good enough for our squad we should be happy. They wont improve spending time watching the above 2 unwanteds.

Only talk this morning is of Wielaert possibly going . I would also expect 2or3 reserves going as Oss and Omniworld have indicated they may take someone.

Not sure what time the deadline is in Holland , 5pm in England midnight in Scotland, but it looks as if no one has gone out on loan today not even from the Jong Ajax squad which currently numbers 20. Ajax were of course unlucky that Haarlem went out of business as we had 5 players there and 2or 3 more were likely to go .

First team squad now 24 plus youngsters Suk and Eriksen is now cut from the 30 before Christmas.

No last minute deals so thats it until the summer when the club must have the biggest clearout ever.
We must get rid of over 25 players if Ajax's target of only 50 pros is to be reached .

Evidently on Monday Oleguer was approached by Vallodolid and Gabri by Portsmouth about loans but the high wages was a stumbling block and both prefered to stay. Although with Portsmouth not getting wages on time and the fact they could be out of business before the end of the season may have been a bigger problem .

Main point Ajax were looking to let these go . I am sure Ajax will try and get rid of them in the summer.

report today suggests Ajax have given up on Aissati and Sulejmani and will let them go if we get some money for them. A big if , we get money for them.

Rommendahl has not got a letter saying he is being released so looks like he will get a new contract .
